It's on Chronicle website that Alibi is being linked to a move away, will we be entitled to any sort of compensation due to his age ? It's interesting to see the clubs are all London based where James is originally from. Despite the stick he had received from fans I feel he has done well for us , scoring 24 goals in 62 games which is a very good record at any level . I think he has improved a lot despite a recent dip in form , the sort of player who has all the attributes but maybe needs to be receiving full time coaching and playing with better players. If he does move on he will be very difficult to replace !

We'll get nothing as James Alibi doesn't play for us

Heard he's off to Dagenham John still enquiried about him before the end of the non league window but JM didn't want him to go as we had no one to fill in. Still likes him and said he will be back in for him end of the season regardless of what league they are in.

We will miss him, his goals have kept us up, he has had it hard this season having to carry Richards for most matches!

His goals per game is impressive, but we'll never really know how good he is because he's never had an adequate strike partner.

I hope he stays but I can't see it. IMO his time at Chester has/will be the turning point of his career as he has excelled especially this season. I hope he manages to get back up the pyramid and good luck if he departs.

The way he's been playing lately conference is his current level for me (unless he's playing with injury or to avoid injury as he is moving). I don't see him scoring goals in the league just yet. I think that it makes sense for him to stay another season, and for us try try and sign another good striker, but can see him going.

Granted 17 league goals is a good return but not a league standard player yet.

Bit harsh to say this is his standard for now.l when he's quite clearly playing on his own upfront with no support whatsoever bar a lumped ball forward in his general direction.
The lad is almost expected to do everything himself which is completely unfair on him. To be honest I'm not surprised his form has dipped of late. He's probably as pissed off as the rest of us!

He managed 2 on Saturday so not too bad for a player whose form has sipped. I've felt quite sorry for him recently, he looks knackered and badly in need of a welk deserved rest

Sorry but he's a League One player who can do a lot better than Dagenham.
He's had pathetic service from the likes of "Duzza", Lloyd and Dawson for the last few months and has had to carry that waste of space Richards. He's had to play in 40 to 50 yards of space away from a Chester shirt whilst defence and midfield sit back yards away from him. He'd run riot in this league if he played for Lincoln or FGR.
The club should do everything to keep him as he's only going to get better and better.
No doubt we'll end up with Duzza and Richards up front next season!

Arrogant open your eyes alanine can't control a ball or hold a ball up or even pass a ball that may result in a goal. You seem to think he's a one man team , he is actually not he's not even a team player and certain players would have more goals if he could play the game. He would rather not hit the target than pass a ball to someone in a better position , trust me he will be no great loss. Then again nor would you .

Ashley Barnes was the shittest player I ever saw pull on a Salisbury shirt when I lived round there. Just as well that lad never made it.

Apparently Wrexham have had contact with his agent. Purely by a chance meeting in a hotel lobby. His agent clearly stated the players ambitions were at a higher level but could be swayed. Personally I think he's an overrated diving cheat but what do I know eh?

Natural goal scorers are worth a lot and hard to come by. Why would you want to go to Dagenham though.....hard to replace and depressing...

I would be disappointed if he signs for another National League club, but couldn't blame him if he wanted full time football closer to home with the likes of D&R.
Whilst he wasn't quite a prolific as Hannah and we don't always play to his strengths, we are going to have another tough job replacing his goals. I would like us to sign a big forward next season though if we continue to lump it forward.

17 goals in this team with so little service is brilliant! If he was in the tranmere team I'd bet it would be close to 30 so saying he is only national league standard is not quite correct

James Alabi is a very good player and will be a big void to fill if he goes. If anyone thinks if and when he does go, we can go and buy a Ricky Miller to replace him, they are in cloud cuckoo land. I think our recruitment over the Summer will be minimal and underwhelming (and we will lose the only players worth keeping) and to expect us to go anywhere apart from backwards is I'm afraid difficult to believe.
Despite some serious misgivings from the start about Jon McCarthy's appointment, I do believe we have no other option but to keep him as manager (it would ruin us financially to pay him off) and I have to say he has probably been given no money to strengthen the squad so far and this is unlikely to change in the near future. He may sound deluded to us but he is probably as frustrated and pissed off as the rest of us with the lack of financial support he has had to build a team to compete. This is his one and only opportunity to launch his football management career and it is quickly falling apart. Not a nice position for him and the pressure is well and truly on him.
Not great times to be a Chester fan.

His control and first touch are excellent at this level. We know his limitations in the air but play it to him on the ground and he will hold the hall up very well and cause a lot of problems for opposing defences. He's always marked very closely because he can turn the last defender easily. Don't know what you are watching buddy

I think Alabi will go and to be fair you can't blame the lad, we have to accept where we are. He's worked off awful service with minimal assistance most of the time being asked to do it all on his own. Given our position and lack of financial clout, I really can't believe we are not looking in the leagues below for potential, I got jumped on last time but there are a couple of very good young strikers in the west Cheshire league who have got to be worth looking at, Alex Woodcock who plays for South Liverpool, local lad Kieran Smith who is currently at Bala, both who are scoring for fun, and never stop running chasing harassing defenders, it's like the old saying you play with better players you become a better player. Got to be worth a look, but hey what do I know, let's just keep watching Kane Richards do a token jog and throw himself on the floor at every opportunity. Don't think I've seen him make a tackle all season. But the notion that has to be better than players who are in the West Cheshire league baffles me because I haven't Seen to much from Richards this season to justifiably say he is better than strikers in the West Cheshire league
