I do not think he has lost it, I think he never had it !! I agree 100% he has to go along with whoever was resposible for giving him another 2 years . Mind you I cannot complain , because when I saw he was going to be the manager, I had a bet that we would in a relagation fight at the end of the season !! Thank you Macarthy for that at least.

I think Mr. McCarthy will fully realise today as to where he stands in the eyes of the majority of Blues supporters. The attendance will not be good, the attendance for the end of season bash is deplorable; it will be a similar story when it comes to ST sales for 17/18. Mr. McCarthy, "You can fool some of the people some of the time . . . " We as supporters are not getting value for our money, so do the honourable thing PLEASE.

I'm convinced he's doing it deliberately because he wants a pay off. Don't sack him just put him on gardening leave and get someone else in

I wish this gardening leave bollocks would behave to be honest, it wont and shouldn't happen. The man should resign and admit to the fans that this season wasn't good enough.

Get real man Oaks, I know it's not likely, it's what should happen though, or at least some sort or reduced payout agreement for him to walk.

If I had 2 year contract that I fancied having the majority of in one go before I start another job somewhere else I'd be saying the same stuff he is right now. We need to play smart and just ban him from the club and pay him the bare minimum his contract stipulates. He'll soon get bored not being able to join another club

A couple of gems from the great man's latest pronouncements:
1. We knew we were safe 5 games ago on 52 points
2. We've done enough this year
3. Question: Do you understand the fan's frustration? Answer: I would understand it if it was York!!!!!!
'Nuff said

Would you walk away from a decent paid job? the board need to be held accountable for this mess, they seem happy for the circus to continue.

As somebody else has said, I now genuinely cannot work out whether JM is an incredibly arrogant man or just completely deluded.
He's still rattling on about a minority. I did not hear one fan with anything positive to say about him today, you just have to be in the ground to realise just how unpopular he is amongst the fanbase. He's got a very patronising tone too when he talks about some fans 'dont understand' the achievement this season. He's lost 10 consecutive home games, we are a fan-owned club whose well-being and livelihood totally depend on our home crowd and keeping them happy. There's not another club in the land where he'd still be in charge, he should be on his hands and knees begging for forgiveness for our utterly dismal form, not still trying to convince people he's masterminded our greatest season.
He's now losing his 'nice guy' tag for me, and is fast showing a different side to him.

He is the same now as he was the 2 previous years with Burr. He thinks he has done his job, completly diluded and not a " nice man " at all ! He will never be a manager as long as there is a hole in his bum . He has some form of qualification to teach sports science, so he should do the right thing and return to that. If he stays , the club is finished !!!!!!!! I begin to wonder if he has a Napolean complex, all his babble points that way.

Make no mistake if we had still have had another fixture to complete next weekend we would have been relegated. You simply can't survive on that form and and to brush it aside as if it's OK because we avoided the drop does not sit well with me.
My biggest fear now Mark Maguire has come out showing support for the manager is that he is supporting the last four months of failure or atleast come out and say that it has been a concern to the board and they will do everything possible to help support Mccarthy to put it right. I'd be less critical if the manager had continued to not play players out of position that has probably been my biggest gripe when we've so clearly been struggling!!
So we now go into the summer on a massive negative, another season to forget, the next three months of concern and worry about what the plans for the season ahead will be. We will have the same old crap as usual, re-sign the players who unfortunately aren't good enough because we are not in a rush to sign anyone when in reality no one wants to come to us. We sit back while other clubs sign up all the decent players and then we have a final flurry a month before the season starts when we start signing all the dog turds no one wants.
I'm really not looking forward to next season and I just don't see how anything will be changed or be different to the last 4 months we've had to endure.

At the very least we need a speedy announcement that Iwelumo is leaving the club. It's been a complete disaster since Christmas. We have stayed up by the skin of our teeth and surely the powers that be can see that there needs to be some sort of shake up. I can't see McCarthy going so it has to be Iwelumo and a few of the squad if we are to build up any enthusiasm for next season. A popular assistant might dispel a little bit of the gloom. Do fear for the start of next season...whatever happens the negativity is going to be lingering and if we lose the first game we will be exactly where we are now. Sadly I just don't think McCarthy can turn it round now. It's not as if we've been really missing key players so that's not an excuse. It has to be down to management, tactics and simply not being good enough. Can anyone really see us punching above our weight as things stand?

I kid you not, but a very knowledgeable fan told me today, that iwelomu has already been signed up to be full-time assistant next season, being part-time thus far. Gold help us if that is true !

Don’t like the way he’s trying to paint this season out as some sort of success, very strange. It could and should have been but it’s turned in to a nightmare.
All this we’ve reached our target talk got tiresome some time ago, time doesn’t stand still, targets change, that’s the reality. He’s always looking back to something that was said to him twelve months ago, there’s no foresight at all. If you don’t win at home in nearly five months and play pretty rubbish week in and week out then people will just decide not to come. If they don’t his budget will go down and his job will just get more and more difficult. He doesn’t see it though, as long as he gets his 52 points that was asked for back in August all is well.
He’s extremely fortunate to still be in a job, I’d say anywhere else he probably wouldn’t be. I can’t say I’m looking forward to next season at all, we looked nailed on for the drop. He’s put us in trouble and looks nothing like being capable of getting us out of it.

McCarthy is bloody shameless and his latest interview is a total disgrace and offensive to the 2000 loyal and dedicated fans who showed up today despite the disgraceful performances of 2017.
I note there was no lap of honour and his pathetic skulk to the dressing room illustrated his lack of class and dignity. Only a handful of players deserved any recognition. Can't wait to see the back of a number of these players who've done sweet FA for two seasons.
The minority is clearly the majority and the board need to call an EGM to discuss Maguire's, McCarthy and iweluwasteoftimeo's future. This desperate bunch in charge are going to send us oblivion.
The CFU must act asap as the situation is now critical.

I don't think he's arrogant or deluded myself, I just think he's desperate to keep his job.
His interviews are like disciplinary hearings where somebody's desperately trying to big up the lousy job they've done. It's how most of us would behave if we knew we were failing at our job but couldn't afford to lose it and knew we more than likely wouldn't get another one any time soon. I find it a bit sad more than anything.
It can't continue in this way though.

It's football and this is the territory. It's a results business. What about all of us that have to save and scrimp to go down there and support his team? If we are keeping him in a job because he's a nice bloke and we can't cope with the thought of him being unemployed, then we really are in a mess. He's had more opportunities than most at our football club. In reality, he should have gone when Burr did. Don't Stalybridge need a coach for their Evostik campaign next season?

At the same time I don't work for a company that work on the breadline, they profit over 100m per annum. I would honestly say that if I worked for a business in the model of ours, having performed so badly, I would look to come to some sort of agreement with them to leave. Perhaps 3-4 months wages while I look for another job, or perhaps offer to return to his role as an assistant and bring in a new number 1.

It's a good job McCarthy doesn't work in a shop as a salesman. From listening to his interview yesterday he'd simply reach his sales target for the year, then just let everyone else walk out the shop without trying to sell them anything, and harp on about reaching his sales target in the 1st 6 months, when there's no money coming in at the end of the year, and the bosses start asking questions.
