Judging by his interview and talking about next year it doesn't seem he has.

Looked like a dead man walking. I honestly can't work out if he's arrogant or delusional. I think the bloke genuinely thinks he's done really well for us.

It just takes one divvy to blurt something out and it becomes a "rumour". Like I kept hearing someone at the game today insisting York had gone ahead even though they were never ahead all day. Wish people would just shut up unless they know!

Both Maguire and McCarthy did interviews with Neil Turner and no hints he has thrown the towel in . . .

The pair of them are appalling and one just incriminates the other. Both will be the end of our football club, the longer they hang around. That was horrible today, genuinely the most gutless, pathetic display I've seen in recent times. The whole club just seems resigned to rolling over.

Clearly Macca can't see his obvious failings but surely the board can. If not, you'd have to consider their suitability.

From what he has said , he is going absolutely nowhere. I'm afraid he shows no professional pride whatsoever, and is waiting for his payoff whenever that inevitably comes. But you can be sure, he will cause this club serious future damage and harm.

Just watched his post match interview and he still can't see why the noisey minority of fans are so frustrated and he is still being awkward with Neil Turner.
I think we are stuck with him now as there is no one at the club who I think can pull the trigger.
Maguire has a lot to answer for imo because he was the one that gave him the new contract.
Thank god this season is over!!

We know he's staying and we know he wants to keep most of this team.
Bottom four certainties.

It would seem JM is now fully exploiting the clubs comparatively weak financial position and divided fan base, combined with a seemingly indecisive Board. With him in post, we will have the nightmare scenario of being in the bottom 2 by the end of October, already in very serious difficulty with little prospect of staying up. By then, he will have spent what budget we have on retaining several inept players, and recruiting god knows who. And guess what, he will still be holding out for a large pay off, and clinging on by blaming bad luck, the budget and the fans ! Given this very likely scenario, does it really make any financial or footballing sense for him to be allowed to continue ? Or is the bottom line that relegation to Conf north is less financially damaging than paying off McCarthy ?

To be honest, I don't think anyone seen such poor form coming pre Christmas. I think everyone was happy to that point. I do think though Sharps was the bigger piece of jigsaw. Mecca loves the club and puts a lot of time in the background. But he also made a poor appointment with his assistant. I think the team and Maccas tactics where found out quickly and he has used all of plan A with no plan B.
For me I would like to see someone like Jim Harvey back here with a good understanding of this league with good contacts. Used to working with a tight budget and bringing youth through.
Must admit I am not looking forward to next season with the way it is.

Ok here are my thoughts after today's game. Unfortunately I missed the first 15 minutes due to issues with my journey from the midlands this morning. In terms of the game today. I felt we were extremely poor and made a side who had 3 or so more points than us who themselves on a poor run look rather good. Aside from Hughes and perhaps lynch and Akintunde who is clearly in his way back we just didn't seem to be committed in terms of effort. Ok why would anyone want to get injured in an end of season game such as today's I get that. How easy we are to play against is very concerning. The way we just stand off and let them play was awful. It's not difficult to see tgey are not putting it in at present for Jon why? At the final whistle when he applauded the fans there was in guessing a 50/50 split in the main stand in terms of opinion. I fear for our club going forward as there are clearly those who are content applauding that inept display today. It's interesting that for several games now none of the players are commenting on twitter anymore. In his interview after the game well no we are not York city and have not been relegated my goodness we haven't won at home since mid December. The players need to play with freedom and be able to express themselves. Let's get someone in who can assist them with doing that. His passion for our club is unquestionable however his post is untenable. Yes we are short of options but today's display left me walking back to my car worried about our club. Particularly with this potentially very dangerous split amongst our support.

Let's be a larger fish in a smaller pond, just like Stockport. Where was Maguire before?

Wish people would just shut up unless they know! The rumour I heard from someone at the ground saying McCarthy resigned five mins post match was a bit like those fateful words "Exeter have equalised against Shrewsbury".
