It should have been done at 2pm this afternoon. It's a very difficult position for the club, but we cannot continue as we are or else we're signing up for a disaster next season.

Surely its the Board which should now make these calls on McCarthys future, and not Mr Maguire who should perhaps recognise that he is an employee ?

Surly it is the CFU who own the club If so, and they are unhappy with the current situation at the club then they must act now Identify the cause of the current poor performances and deal with it If the current state of affairs continue and Mr McCarthy stays to the end of his contract, them I feel we will be back in the Evo Stik

How many members of the Board have run a business and been in a position where they have sacked a member of their staff, who they liked, for the sake of the company?

As I said in another thread, the board is made up of our representatives so an EGM should be called so CFU members can register their views. It might also boost CFU membership. i agree that if nothing is done, this club will get relegated to the Evostick this time next season - or is that what the Board wants.

There is clearly no sensible footballing reason in keeping McCarthy on. Yes, he has achieved his minimum objective, but has also demonstrated since December he is unable to manage limited resources properly, resulting in consistently unacceptable performances, with absolutely no sign he has the ability of improving matters. It is a truly incredible stat that we have now lost 11 out of the last 12 homes games. Everyone knows why he is still here. He seems to have little professional pride, and is unfortunately yet another journeyman exploiting the very generous support of a fan owned club. Unless something drastically changes, it looks like were stuck with him, with the inevitable disaster and financial consequences to follow next season. As a fan, other being relegated, this denial of hope for next season is hard to take.
