No surprise who the winner was but the UK managed to actually get some points this year, 466 points and finishing 2nd for the first time in 20 years.

You obviously care or you wouldn’t have commented. It's such a childish response when people say that. You can make a comment about something without caring about it. You clearly missed the part where I said "Pointless competition". Actually there were quite a lot of points in it, even for the UK!

Was only half watching it this year.
Thought Ukraine and Moldova stood out as two of the more original and fun entries. That band have represented Moldova three or four times and are always a good laugh. Greece, Armenia and Sweden not bad either.
Didn't like our song very much but obviously a lot of people did. It shows they don't all just hate us. I just think we've entered some very poor and forgettable songs in the last 20 years.
No idea what the Serbian handwashing thing was all about. All the former Yugoslav countries seemed to vote for it though so it must've made sense to them. I'd like to see more acts sing in their own language, personally.
I didn't think much of the Italian rock song that won it last year, and from hearing more of that band I think they're terrible and as derivative as it gets. It's like they've been specially manufactured to introduce rock music to people who've never heard it before!

Something to do with how terrible the health care is in Serbia and that you have to be rich just to be healthy which is why she mentioned Megan Markle at the start of the song

Some posts removed from here.
If you don't care about Eurovision, don't comment. Same goes for any thread.

I never miss the Eurovision. It's just a bit of a laugh for a couple of hours watching the usual crazy stuff that goes on, can't see why anyone would take it seriously enough to get annoyed by it. Not sure the Ukrainian entry was winning material, although was one of the better efforts, but there was something nice about them winning the public vote in terms of Europe showing some solidarity. Great to see us get a big points score too, it was strange to have a bit of genuine interest in the latter stages of the voting for once!

No better U.K. city to host next years competition than Liverpool. It’s gonna be proper boss la. Hotel prices have shot up. Some people who booked hotels in Liverpool anticipating it have had their £400 rooms refunded and they've put those rooms back up, the prices now go up to £25,000 and I'm not joking! I've noticed hotels in Chester have also gone up as well.

The city itself is sorting cruise ships and camp sites so people don’t get ripped off.
