Barnsley came in with a 50k bid in January but were knocked back Was claimed to be 75k, rather than 50.

Many managers have a clause in their contract entitling to a percentage of a transfer fee, as it is the manager who have developed the players. In addition agents are sometimes paid by the selling club. Does anybody know the situation at Chester?

In reply to the comment by "the voice" as to why the club made the statement regarding Sam's transfer situation when it is not yet finalised. We have all made comments about the lack of communication with the fans(me included) so the club is making the fans aware of how far the transfer has progressed as the article in the mail newspaper states certain facts. I applaud the club for the update long may this communication continue on other matters as they happen The club can't win really can they?if they had said nothing on the transfer no doubt they would get criticised too😁coyb

I see it the opposite way, it's nice to see the club reacting to this and letting the fans know what's going on. How many times have they been criticised for not doing so before now. Fans could be saying "Why are the Chronicle announcing this and not the club, the club never communicate with the fans" when it's not the reality at all.... Edit: Poole Pirate beat me to it...
