Found him!! One of the original 9 CFU Board members, all you need to know check out page 72 of CFU website newsfeed "Election of the board..." dated 24th November 2009. Not sure knowing who he is will make much difference though. Good Luck

The lack of allowing new members on DC1 was only one of the issues which led to this one being set up. The other was the over zealous moderation and the constant bans handed out to anyone who had differing strong views to the powers that be. I agree that we should sort out the current situation, lets all get on the same board and get behind our team together

Who the fook is Campbell Smith??? If he is or not, someone must know who Krankie is, if he still supports us, he must be in contact with other fans? if passed on, surely someone would have said? This Krankie guy for whatever reason, can't still be around because surely nobody could be that ignorant and arrogant to just stand back and watch the frustration his closed shop website and jobsworth mods have caused and do nothing about it!

Why do people think he's somehow answerable to them? He administrated a forum in his own free time, voluntarily, and now he seems to have decided he doesn't want to anymore. Entirely up to him. Let it go and enjoy the new forum.

Weren't you one of the bad guys over there? I was a mod on DC till about 2013 then decided I didn't really have the time or inclination to do it anymore. We still accepted new members at the time and I like to think I never banned anyone just for an opinion I disagreed with. So, up to you whether I'm a 'bad guy'!

It was set up by somebody living in Japan, who does seem a bit of a man of mystery. He may not have the authority to give his admin reins to someone else, or might just not feel comfortable doing so. Anyway, I still think it's not really anyone's business, and I hope nobody is intending to hassle him over the internet about it. We've got a perfectly good forum here that many people have embraced, and the old one is continuing to tick along with a handful of regulars. Don't see the problem any more really.

Thus far no-one has given a reasonable explanation whatsoever, There is something not right about this situation, have you ever read the book Animal Farm ?

How am I wrong? You don't have Devachat customer rights. It's not a paid service, and there's no need for any "explanation". If you want to run a nonprofit website, that's up to you. If you want to stop running it, that's also up to you and just because other people use or visit it, they don't have any kind of patrons' rights. It's not a difficult concept I don't think.

Tbf there were people that paid towards the running of DC. ^ This exactly.
It was a service that many people over on the old forum contributed money towards it's maintenance in order to keep it running. Yes it is still running but the majority of those people who contributed will now be permanently banned from using the forum all because of that mini-Hitler.

There was a call for donations once, a good ten years ago at least I reckon. In recent years it hasn't even been possible to donate to Devachat because of a broken link. Personally, I'm not going to demand answers on the basis that I donated a fiver in about 2006. Time to let it go and move on.

It's more efficient, as more members and doesn't cost us anything to use. Personally i can't use two forums, so use this one as it is the more active of the two, which of course means a couple more morons, but that's just forums in general.
