Difficult one in that I agree that a socialist principle of paying what you can afford is a great idea but there is a reason that no business in the entertainment sector has a successful long term business model on this principle.
Sadly if you were to benchmark us against the other clubs in this league with similar facilities then we are on a par .
The real challenge (bar what happens on the pitch) is the overall match day experience which has declined soo much in recent seasons , this provides added value and helps justify the price and encourage the floating fan

It would be a financial own goal if Chester increased admission to £20 next season. Indeed. As someone whose been made redundant twice in the last 5 years, having been forced to accept a flexi contract yet expected to work 6 of even 7 days a week at the click of a finger, I'm very much at the point where I can't afford the £18 any longer let alone the other costs. I will admit that I'm an exile for whom the parking and the cost of sustenance are more of a necessity than an optional extra. I think the key argument though is that the silent majority of stay aways are probably in the same position as me, priced out. Rental prices have risen, the ability to get on the ladder has fallen, as have wages and terms of employment. This affects people in their 20's-30's more so than older and younger fans for a variety of reasons, but there is a huge problem with the pricing of football. Not that I would, but there are prem and championship teams with similar admission prices. To state that the fault of the playing budget lies with the great fans who do turn up is a shocking statement to make, at the cost involved, most will surely be making big sacrifices elsewhere to afford to go. Then to see an argument about foul language on an adult football forum coupled with a weird attempt at grammar Nazism gain traction just goes to show that some have their heads buried in the sand as regards the real problems that the club and others are facing. I'm not even having a go at the club here, the majority of these issues arent ones the club have control over, some of course are, im merely highlighting the true issues affecting the attendance. I fall into the category you refer to, being 25, and appreciate it isn't cheap going to the match. However i do think it goes for all fans of all ages. It's just a very expensive sport nowadays, even compared to when i was younger. I guess if making sandwiches to take and bringing your own drinks saved a few quid, it's something to be considered, even if it means for every 9 games, one comes free. I think falling attendances this season, certainly haven't been helped by our failings since Christmas. However, there must be ways to increase it. We need more offers for casual fans, even if its risks rocking the boat with a few of the stubborn ST holders. Out of interest, do we offer a pay monthly season ticket for fans that simply can't afford the full output?

Something like 10 games for £130 There are people who can't, or can't afford to go to every game, we need an incentive to get them to as many as possible. 10 games at £13 beats 5 at £18, plus additional income from programs, 50/50 etc Even something like attend 5 games get the 6th free would help. The floating fan may only fancy the big games, but if they are close to earning a freebie they may come to the next game, which they would normally not bother with

No I haven't until now. Great stuff How many were sold? Will it be continued? Not seen any figures of how many were sold but it's a concern one of our own fans doesn't know about it. It was released by the club and then nothing has been done to advertise it. I understand the club would prefer season ticket holders to Cestrian 10 holders, but surely with 10 or so games to go last season they should have been shouting about the Cestrian 10 offer?

Second year running that the winner of that competition has been relegated. Will York City come straight back up as Halifax have?
