Just noticed that they lost against Portimonense last night. Never felt more like singing the blues, when Chester win, and Wr*xh*m lose. Don’t mind if I do. A Portuguese Premier league team. But hey, I wish we had stayed in the UK and got beat 7-1 by Wigan reserves. It was the first team 🤦♂️. The reserves were playing against Curzon Ashton. |

Is there a more tedious time of year for football ‘banter’ than pre-season? “We lost a meaningless friendly and so did you but the team we played are a little bit better than the team you played so ha ha”.

On a serious note - some good teams in the National North next season - I think you may struggle get promoted as much as we will.....

Now come on "MOC" it gives that lot down the road the chance to have delusions of grandeur for 6 weeks when the beat the likes of Halkyn and Llanberis which then leads to them saying that it "will be their year". The reality of the situation is that they will bottle it 7 to 9 months later and will be forever Vanarama National League (is that sufficient Rossett Red?). |

We haven't really done the local teams this year, apart from our opening friendly against Cefn. I hate those games at places like Mold. They are utterly pointless other than for giving the host team a bit of gate money.
Some fans are delusional, they still think we should be 'smashing' teams like Harrogate because they don't have our history. But most aren't. Same as in any football club.
As for this year we should be one of the clubs in the mix but I wouldn't consider us favourites (Fylde for me) and there are a few decent teams in our league. Could be any one of half a dozen really.
Some decent looking signings for you lads, decent chance of promotion? York look like they are going for it a bit.

Saw a video of bootlegger on social media from the game, it did look like they had won the league. Halifax started really strong last year and I don't see them anywhere near the top 10 this season either. But it doesn't stop their delusion. |
