Wow, I always think we're a bit lukewarm on supporter ownership, but for only 31 fans to be against it (or bothered enough to vote against it) speaks volume. Although it should be noted that this is just a vote to proceed with talks and another vote will follow. Personally, I think I would always vote against anything but 100% supporter ownership, however well-intentioned I thought the party involved was. Problem will 100% fans ownership is cash flow and investment to buy good players .We did well financially but could not keep up with the rich pub teams who could buy their way to promotion. Hopefully this buy out will take place and who knows where we will end up ?

Are you not in the slightest concerned about the intentions of whoever is behind all this (suspect the famous names are merely the “face”/front) in light of the current climate? Apparently Hartlepool and Chesterfield have both rejected their advances, so now they’ve moved on to your lot. To me that says they don’t particularly want Wrexham, they want a club. What for? I have my suspicions.

I dont think Ryan Reynolds needs to tarnish the good image he has by stitching up Wrexham FC with no assets. It might not sit right with you but be honest thats not because you are remotely concerned with Wrexhams future prospects. It may or may not happen anyway, who knows what their plans with the club are before a full statement is made? Nice to have something massive to hope for though.

If it's true that they've had previous interest in Hartlepool and Chesterfield then I'd guess they're looking at bigger clubs who are currently underperforming, whether that's recently or for over a decade. Will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Apparently, this evening, they have a trust zoom meeting with their Canadian/American suitors. Could be interesting!

Enjoy it whilst it lasts lads, because it won’t!
Been here before, I’m surprised you are willing to give up fan ownership so easily given both clubs troubled histories. Will the appetite be there to rescue the club from the same situation once again? Considering you had the club in the first place this time...

It might end up the same, but given the calibre of the people involved its not the same as when Guterman or Hamilton bought us, or Vaughan, Guterman or Smith for you lot. These people actually have money behind them.
They might get bored and walk away, particularly if we just turn out to be a money pit, but they appear to be keen on keeping the community focus and are under no illusions on how tough it is at this level so I'm not kveely worried about that. Its not an opportunity we can pass up really. Of we stay as we are I can't see how anything other than a dwindling decline is in our future, after this season and the losses we will make.

How do you know it wont last or is this just wishful thinking ? Who knows what will happen but I bet you would jump to the chance of selling to two well known rich persons who on the surface are setting us up for a very exciting future.

Personally I’d vote No to private ownership every time. The last one got us liquidated. You were close to that with Hamilton weren’t you?

Dont believe you , surely you would take time to weigh up the pro's and con's 1st ? In our case it was a no brainer as the buyers are highly respectable and in it for the long term and yes Hamilton was a crook trying to steal ythe club from us and nearly got away with it .

I’d be loving the publicity that it’s brought but if it was our situation given the trouble we’ve had in the past with private ownership I’d just be waiting for it to go wrong.

Now you're bigger than Barca what manager would you go for?

Ex Liverpool CEO is to become Wrexham's CEO Saw your thread so moved into here. That would be a mental appointment, it’s a chance to bring in Sponsorships etc and what better person to do it. The guy himself is worth over 40 million. If I was a Hartlepool fan I’d be demanding what exactly the owner and Jeff Stelling didn’t like about this deal. It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out, this CEO was on a 6 figure salary at Liverpool, obviously the guys can afford it though.

Wrexham takeover has been going on behind the scenes since May.
Hartlepool was announced as an American consortium in August. We've never called it a consortium or said it's had links to America. "Two well known and famous individuals of high personal worth" or something along those lines.
To top it all off was confirmed by WST board at the first SGM that it wasn't the same bid as the Hartlepool one

I thought Stelling confirmed that it was the same group?
To answer the question, the Hartlepool due diligence uncovered prior fraud convictions.

Some Hartlepool journo was saying they're linked. Likely to up his clicks on his article. Fraud convictions were for a Hartlepool bid in 2019

Moore gave up his role at LFC to live in America. So Wrexham have now got two owners who’ve never set foot in Wrexham and a CEO who won’t either.
Also some “propaganda” pieces on how Wrexham is a struggling town and inferring the club was staring at the abyss before these two “actors” rolled into town. I’m starting to think this could all go a bit Terry Smith.

Moore won't be the CEO. He's confirmed that he's advising but isn't working for the club. There will be permanent staff, based locally, employed I have no doubt about that.
The difference between these two and Terry Smith is that Terry Smith had no money, and ultimately installed himself as manager. Thats not happening this time.
I can see why people are cautious (or jealous), but there is so much false equivalency being thrown around its ludicrous.
