Wanted to join the board to let you all know about something happening next month on Wednesday 7th June which is Jeff Stelling's #MarchForMen for Prostate Cancer UK.
Sky Sports' Jeff Stelling will be walking 400 miles visiting 40 clubs going from Exeter City's St James' Park to NUFC's St James' Park - all in the space of 15 days as part of his continued support of Prostate Cancer UK.
Last year he did 10 days culminating at Wembley, but this year wanted to make it bigger and better, to raise more money and awareness of prostate cancer.
This year, on day 6 of the march, he is walking from Chester FC to Everton's Goodison Park, taking in Prenton Park and Anfield en route.
Myself and around 50 others will join him on this leg, including ex-Liverpool players Mark Lawrenson (I'm sure he'd like to see Chester can be regarded as a football city with a show of support!), Phil Thompson, Neil Mellor - and also a bonus treat of radio broadcaster and supporter of Chester FC, Colin Murray, hitting the road with us too!
Some key points about prostate cancer if you're not too aware of it:
In total, it will be roughly 26 miles (and no we're not swimming the Mersey...well that's what they've said!).
We're starting early at around about 8am, and hope to reach Goodison Park by 6pm all being well.
I've got a page set up on JustGiving currently trying to hit a £500 target - justgiving.com/robjeffries - but if you do know anyone else doing the walk, then please support them if you can.
We're heading from the ground and then heading into the city centre, before a loop of the walls and then out towards Tranmere, so if you are out and about on that morning, all support is great support!

Some key points about prostate cancer if you're not too aware of it:
- More than 11,000 men die from prostate cancer in the UK each year – so two men will pass as a result of the disease in the time it takes to complete a game of football.
- It’s the most common cancer in men, with over 330,000 living with the disease currently or having beaten the disease in the UK.
- Prostate cancer is set to become the most commonly diagnosed cancer of all in the UK by 2030 - which is why we must all act now to curb its power to kill.
- Men over 50, black men and men with a family history of prostate cancer all face a higher than average risk of the disease.
- Prostate cancer treatment often causes devastating, long term side-effects. Incontinence and erectile dysfunction strike at the heart of what it means to be a man.
