It's definitely going to be Whitehouse I reckon - think someone on Twitter pointed out he'd liked the Tweet about the announcement? (Not that that really means anything I guess)

I wish you would have a day off. You should’ve had a day off when you said Cal Mac would be gone by February. What a load of codswallop 😁

Slagging our own players, managers, the board. Have a day off. The players, you mean a former player(Dudley), just like you with Dazza so hypocrisy in the greatest form. That's the end of this for me so please stop replying to me. Please. Someone’s got to stick up for the club when horrible men like you constantly berating them. Stop it. Please.

And what a boring place it would be on here if that was the case.

That's quite the midfield if we can get Glendon, Weeks and Whitehouse to all fit in the starting line up. You'd have to play one of Roberts/Earl/Burke behind them, maybe 2 in some games

Fantastic signing. Stunned by him and Caton staying, midfield looked so good at the end of the season, roll on the new season 😊

Great signing.
Really impressed with him during the few games I saw him play. Calm and assured looking in the middle of the park.

Was expecting Whitehouse to play in the League above
Massive coup to get him back for next season
Had a feeling he wanted to return as he's basically liked every tweet the club have done since season finished

What a signing!
I can only imagine a few of these will be sold at some point though.
Promotion is a must at the end of this season. Hopefully as champions

Delighted we've got Whitehouse.

I would be surprised if Glendon is still here come the start of the season to be honest.

I would be surprised if Glendon is still here come the start of the season to be honest. Why wouldn’t he be? Assuming he’s over his injury, he’s club captain and got another year left on his contract. It will be a massive pre-season for him, but he’ll be like a new signing if he can get himself fit again.

Should he come straight back in as captain though? After all, he didn't kick a ball last season and we finished 3rd. The season before he featured heavily and we finished 16th. Not doubting his talent or trying to slag him off, but I feel his role next season should be more peripheral, personally.

Delighted we've got Whitehouse. Glendon’s our captain, presumably one of our highest-paid players, and one of Cal’s first moves after being appointed was to tie him down to a two-year deal. He was a nailed-on starter before his injury, and I don’t really see why that should change because we’ve signed another midfielder who’s not particularly similar stylistically. On the topic of Whitehouse, it goes without saying that it’s a fantastic bit of business to secure his signature permanently after being, I’d say, the best performer in the team during his loan spell. Alongside (not instead of!) Glendon and Weeks, he’ll form a midfield which, on paper at least, would surely be good enough for the top end of the National League or even League Two. The only other thing I’ll say, though, is that the fact we’ve dedicated ten tweets today to announcing his signing is making me think that poor Albert must be pretty bored with no football to watch!

If he returns on top of his game he'll be an asset but we are a better team these days.

Such as the play off semi final we were comprehensively lost the midfield battle.

I am Made up Elliott Whitehouse has returned Scunthorpe's loss is our gain and on a free 👍 good bit of business by Cal and the club. On another subject some of the bickering on this thread is unbelievable, this thread should purely be about welcoming the players who have signed for the club (god knows what they think if they read some of this shit) Really people get a grip 😒 if you want to bicker start you own thread called the bickering bastards and just leave this one to welcome players new or old 👍btw talking of old players what's happening with Matty Waters ?

Getting a bit carried away there, I fear. No doubt Whitehouse is a very good signing for our level but he was part of a midfield that pretty much got out fought by Brackley in the play off semi. Teams will try to stop us playing and we need to counter that. We brought Burke on to try to get a grip but it didn't really work out. I'd also like to see us be a bit braver on the ball at the back, to try to give the midfielders better quality posession. If the ball is pinging around in the air half the time it just becomes a battle which plays into the hands of teams that just want to spoil and try to nick something. Delighted by this signing, nonetheless. Shaping up nicely and hopefully another couple to come.

From memory, Glendon has been back running since earlier this season so presumably has been joining in with training etc. Understandably he wouldn't have been fit enough to play last season, and it would have been a risk we didn't need to take, but he should be starting pre season with a good level of sharpness which will only get better with some matches under his belt. Plenty of options in that central midfielder area for Calum now.

Can you play Weeks and Glendon in the same side without taking the strength out of the midfield. I'm sure Callum has his opinion on the subject and I'm certain that his opinion is a lot more relevant that mine, or anyone else's on this forum. Let's hope Glendon comes back raring to go and plays like we all know he can.
