Not to sure if CFU members are included in the Concession prices for entry to stadium. But I see Curzon Ashton have again offered club members (£10 per year) instead of paying £15 to pay £8 to get in. They don't have a season ticket as far as I can see. But I wondered if CFU members who turned up on the day they could get a discount. I know Curzon are not your atypical club with maybe a 400 fan base. But in this cost saving climate a saving of a couple of pounds for a CFU member who can't afford a season ticket is a thank you. Apologies if they already get the Concession Price!!!

CFU membership means you are joint owner of Chester FC for just a paltry £12 a year. That seems pretty good value to me. The Club couldn't then offer discount at the turnstiles as well!!!

Why not? Fans want something for their money, if being a CFU member gets you money off a ticket, or a priority ticket for big games, and it encourages more money into the club. Which they'll spend at the kiosk any way. Why not do it

If the membership is going to give you a discount on tickets then the membership would need to increase in price a fair bit to compensate for that

Say 400 people a game utilised their £2 (for arguments sake) discount, that’s nearly £18.5k out of the playing budget for the season, and wouldn’t make any impact on attendances. When we’re crowd funding for £100k, we can’t afford to go letting that amount go.
Agree with others above, ticket priority and discount card etc. (alongside club ownership and voting rights) is enough bang for your £12 a year.

You've used a calculation that means the 400 go to every game. They would buy a season ticket and get about 6 games free!!! This is for people who for work or family commitments can only go to say 6 or 7 games per season maybe just Tuesday night games. They pay £12 for CFU go to 6 games with a £2 discount - no cost to club apart from having the £12 in bank at beginning of season. But you get a person because they are a member of the club feel loyal to the club and the club to them. If they can get to a few more games great. It's a way of getting people to feel loyalty to our club and come back season after season.

But he based that calculation on that assumption. But I'm trying to think of ways to get people loyal to our club!!!! We had 1200 season ticket holders and in winter months 2000 was a good crowd maybe less. We need to get floating people in to the ground.

Without more floating fans coming, we'll be paying £20 on the gate come next season

The thing is, the vast majority of CFU members aren’t ‘floating’ supporters - they’re committed fans of the club who’d go to games anyway regardless of any kind of financial incentive. If we’re talking about ways in which reducing admission prices could help attract new fans, surely a blanket reduction or perhaps other initiatives like discounted ‘family’ tickets would have far more chance of success; I really don’t see how only decreasing prices for those that go anyway would achieve anything beyond costing the club a lot of money.

We do enough to attract floating fans as it is. Don’t really need to do much more. Fans will turn up if we are playing well as has been shown throughout the years
