With all the talk about fundraising, I feel we're missing an opportunity here. We won't sell out, Tranmere could easily sell out no matter what we give them. We are giving them 1100, might as well give them all the west stand too. That's an extra say 500 tickets? If the average buyer pays £15 for it, that's £7500 we could be missing out on. That's enough for one or two decent players on loan until the end of the season or to add into the playing budget for next year.

A good cup run and a Premiership side in 3rd Round should get us a 4k gate.
Not going to happen anytime soon I fear 😒 Would it though? Cheshire Police make it so difficult for us to get a decent crowd.

Isn't the current capacity 4100? We almost sold 3000 against the goats so why would we give Tranmere an extra 500 tickets and make Chester fans lose out on tickets?

Never really understood why in games against the Goats and Tranmere we have a massive line of Police and Stewards in between the south Stand and H Block, but still insist on the netting covering up about 100 seats. If the Police cant control them with a decrease in distance between the two sets of fans of about twenty feet its pretty laughable. Most of it is just pointing and arm waving gestures anyway, if they really wanted a ruck with each other, they could simply hop over the wall and do it on the pitch, the fact its not happened tells me it unlikely to.

Was originally 6,012 when it first opened in 1992 but we have since inserted seats in the South stand to reduce that capacity, which is reduced further by the SAG. I thought it was around 4,100.

4100 sounds about right. If a match is all ticket, but seats aren't individually allocated there is a further mandatory 10% reduction in capacity.

I've actually seen the blueprints for the ground and I'm certain the maximum size was over 6012, but 6012 is what they published so they'd have spare capacity in hand and never get into trouble. Seating in the South Stand reduced it from approx 1360 to 550 (I think), so these days 5200 max approx, and then as Sychdyn Blue says, the SAG kicks in with further reductions. I believe the foundations put in were for a 10,100 stadium (same as McDairmid Park), but, with all the faffing around at the time the ground was built, they reduced the size of all four stands. They started building in January and we had to have a 6000 capacity ground by August. With hindsight, they should have just built stands on two sides to the original specs to give us the required league minimum 6000 capacity, and added the other sides later (bit like Inverness did). That way we'd have ended up with a 10,000 capacity ground with prob little increase in the maintenance costs, and it would have reduced the need for so many all-ticket games.

I remember the club putting a post on Facebook saying there was 1 ticket remaining for the East stand for the recent Wrexham game. I was sat in B block and there were a fair few empty seats
