You order a new TV and get a delivery time slot from the supplier. You excitedly wait in, all day, in anticipation. The day continues, but sadly no delivery. When you angrily phone the supplier you get brushed off with a lame excuse, of which there are many, but it will arrive soon and it will be worth the wait!! Sounds familiar if you are a Chester FC fan. Come on Maguire and McCarthy, start delivering on your promises. Big signing soon- really? Next season's prices soon - really? As soon as McCarthy signed his new contract in January he claimed he now had the support and confidence to aim for a place in the football league - really? P.s. I've found somewhere for Maguire to go to - Northumbria University in Newcastle are offering a course for him - pipeline-integrity-management MSc. As it is, I'm still waiting for that TV delivery!

Bloody hell .... I got slaughtered on here last season when I moaned that we hadn't signed a player when I went for my season ticket in July.
Be patient. We've already signed 5 or 6 players (and that's without all the re-signed detritus).

You were right to moan last year! ... and so far this year it seems the cast offs from other National League clubs are passing us by to sign for Lower league clubs? Not exactly aiming for the stars.

I see you're still clapping, so at least you are finding some entertainment. Good on you. I doubt those who have walked away over the past five months, or those looking to join the ranks are optimistic however, and it is essential that they buy into the future.

Can understand the frustration but the problem we have competing with Salford is, they're loaded. They get maybe more fans that is? Although I am just assuming here, and they have rich backers, that said they did say they don't have the biggest playing budget in the league, crazy!

I am still waiting for the fruits of our CEO's labour to come to the for. Wasn't it a few weeks before the end of the season he was declaring that we would soon see them? I am awaiting with great interest the outcomes of his work.

I'm not going to moan about us "cutting our cloth" or losing out to lower league teams with money behind them. If we want to remain financially stable, that's the reality of the situation.
What I'm not so happy about is some of the same underperformers being offered new contracts, like Chappel and seemingly George. It sends out a message that we're a club lacking in ambition and hunger that asks very little of its players, so what sort of players can we expect to attract in return?
I completely accept that we're up against it, but the least we need to do is get a message across to players that not keeping yourself fit, getting yourself in stupid disciplinary trouble and ambling about on the pitch is not good enough for CFC. If we don't do this we're in danger of becoming the National League graveyard.

Season ticket and pricing info not being out now is shocking. They were supposed to be announced weeks ago, then last week, now next week. How many times are they going to keep putting it back?
Just get the bloody prices released and concentrate on getting players to sign at the same time ffs. We're missing out on a valuable source of income!

What worries me Al, is are we awaiting announcing them until just after a quality signing because the prices are going up? Clutching at straws but I don't see the harm in releasing them m otherwise.

Yes, I've been fearing the same. The old "s**t sandwich" technique - finding a couple of pieces of good news to slip a big piece of miserable news in between!

Sorry lads I love the club to bits but if they put the admission up next season again then I am done, it'll show that they have absolutely no desire to grow the existing fan base and that their only idea is to fleece the remaining support AGAIN.
I bought into the idea of fan ownership, doing things differently and better than before, a community club with the Community at its very heart. Another price increase makes a complete mockery of everything we set out to do that night at the Guildhall meeting.

Without doubt this club this has had 1500 brilliant fans who have been head and shoulders above the players and management, especially since Christmas. Their persistence has been pure stubborn loyalty, way above the call of duty. Another 500 or so have also been regular fans who also deserve better. The chance to play in front of such loyal support is clearly a selling point also. I've just heard John Terry give his Chelsea fans an apt ovation for their years of support, and also appreciative support for management and staff over the years. It's about time Maguire and McCarthy recognised this concept of football loyalty and stopped treating the fans' loyalty with such disdain. Don't be fooled you two, their will always be loud applause when the team comes out. It'll just be louder when you leave.

Jesus, we don't need anything like what happened at Chelsea today, have you seen it? Terry was substituted in 26th minute and given a guard of honour by his team mates DURING the match! Ridiculous and disrespectful to the opposition.

For reasons that have been done to death over the last few weeks and months, let's be brutally frank here. There isn't going to be a "marquee" signing with the reputation/image/past history etc that's going to make fans flock down Bumpers Lane to renew or purchase season tickets, we're just not in that market. OK we might get a couple of decent players but with the financial clout of others in this league we are certainly not favourites to land the so-called "names"
So, and I'm saying this as a non-season ticket holder, I think the best approach is to release season tickets for sale now to a) get some money in and b) attempt to prevent a possible increase in lethargy as people find more reasons NOT to renew/buy further down the track.
I'd love to be proven wrong but I'm not holding my breath

Felt the pinch a bit last season, definitely will next season especially if prices go up. Love the club to bits but as I get older my responsibilities and priorities change. Shame, because Chester FC, no matter how crap we are, is a respite from family/working life. But if I can't afford it, I can't afford it. Mentioned this before, but whilst it's great that students, those that are retired etc get reduced tickets. What about working folk clocking in 40+ hours a week, paying their bills, supporting their families etc and in some cases making ends meet. Where's our discount? Football, at the top level, is losing its stature as a working man's game. Non league football should be accessible and affordable at the very least. A price increase, from a community club, just hammers home that football, at all levels, is no longer the peoples game.

If there is a price increase then that is the nail in the coffin for our football club. We are already at a cross roads, with many fans waiting to see what happens next. The silence is very confusing and the next 12 months are huge for this football club. Somehow some positive momentum has to be re-installed. Not fantasy positivity, real tangible positivity.

[ Very relatable in terms of responsibilities changing etc. I think it's exactly why the club need to be pushing deals for kids and teenagers to get the future fans through the gates. Always seems to be a lack of 13-21 year old at games especially in the main stand. I can't imagine those people who leave school and get a job and have to fork out £18 a fortnight, sometimes even twice a week. We should try om the last game in September , students go free with a student card. Simple reason, there are over 6000 new University starters each year, and getting them in free may encourage some back if they enjoy it. With Horwood training the Chester Uni lads, surely it would be easy enough to get a few fliers about to advertise it too.
