Finished 9th in the Premier League.
Who remembers us losing 2-0 at home to them just 8 years ago - a result that pretty much confirmed our relegation to the Conference and their survival. Oddly, I remember feeling a degree of hope after that game as it seemed like the point where the tide had firmly turned against SV and everyone seemed to realise we needed a change.

Amazing what an Eastern European billionaire's capital injection can do isn't it? They're not the "fairytale story" the media would have you believe.

I remember it well, I think Darren Anderton scored against us. They were bouncing that day and it looks like they haven't stopped since!

Darren Anderton scored at their place that season. 1-0. 89th minute winner having been brought on earlier in the 2nd half. He was clearly on a much, much higher level than anyone else on the pitch even at that late stage of his career. If I remember rightly Bournmouth started that season 17 points behind us due to a points deduction. Rotherham and Luton also had massive deductions. Quite a feat getting relegated that season!

I was at that match. I went into Boscombe before the match and was surprised how run down it was. It made Wrexham look quite decent. Darren Anderton retired immediately after that match. We actually would have got a streaky point but for Anderton.

He spent the whole season following a club until they lost their next game....I think we beat Darlo away on the Tuesday (Ryan Lowe wondergoal) then lost at Bournmouth on the Saturday. Grim, grim times.

I was at the game at dean court when Anderson scored in the 89th minute I sensed it was going to happen somehow. I'm a Chester fan of course but live in boscombe now yes it's run down now used to be so posh years ago The image of Anderton's goal used to be on a large panel at the end of one of the stands until last season but now been replaced thank goodness.each time I attended a game there (mainly non first team) it used to haunt meπ

That glory hunter bloke was sat right by me. Moved to Bournemouth in 1988, but still proud to follow the Blues, much happier doing so than going to see the Cherries.

Didn't Paul Baker (BITHBH) have an involvement with the Bournemouth ownership. I remember him giving a Chester top or jacket to every season ticket purchaser. Would love to know the full story surrounding PB - where is he now?

Looks a bit different now to back in those Bournemouth days (don't we all)!

Never heard C Block called the hoi polloi before. I'm still a season ticket holder and sit with my 12 year old son, Harry in C Block along with some of my mates from Handbridge. Business wise I have stepped back from the crazy days of running multi businesses spread across the UK. I'm 57 now and edging towards retirement having made a few sensible decisions over time but some mad ones as well.

Could you give our CEO a bit of advice on running a football club as he seems to have lost his GCSE "Business Studies" text book over the past few weeks?

I don't think many of the fans of AFC Bournemouth would concur with you. The problem with modern football is it just gets more and more expensive and there still can only ever be a handful of successful clubs each season. What this club lacks is a clear strategy of where it wants to be five/ten years from now and how it will achieve those goals. The leadership and drive behind the club has changed to many times over the last three years to have any consistency and impact which is why we seem to be going backwards on and off the field.
