Here it is, it's FA Cup time. We go against the lowest team left in the competition. No pressure!

Early kick off games always seem flat somehow. Takes teams ages to get going.
Looking at their pre match comments they're going to keep the game messy, and break play up. I've no idea whether they are a big direct side or a team that gets it down and play. Either way I can see us trying to control the game and we just need that bit of luck you need in these kind of games. Sometimes teams have 10 shots with 5 on target and the opposition has 1 and it goes in.
Hopefully class and superior players will tell and we'll win this.
Tadcaster 1 Chester 2 Caton and Whitehouse.

I’m already here!! Going to be a big banana skin, especially with the presence of the BBC cameras, so it’s crucial we step up to avoid a big upset. In recent years we have been on the wrong side of a few major catastrophes in the cup, however last season we defeated two lower league sides in the FA Cup, so I’m hopeful that we will find a way of getting past Tadcaster Albion today. They’ve made a poor start to their league campaign on the back of a relegation, but league tables go completely out of the window in these types of games, so we mustn’t underestimate Tadcaster. Really looking forward to the game now, so let’s hope this’ll be the start of a run that’ll get us to at least the 1st Round for the first time in ages.
Score - Tadcaster Albion 0-2 Chester FC (Sparrow, Caton).
Attendance - 938 (240 Chester FC).

Much as it's a "banana skin" and we have to show them respect and so on, I also think we have to go into it with confidence and the belief that we should win.
We're a bit obsessed with the idea that we always lose games like this, but how much of that is Bern & Jonno? They've continued to do poorly in the Cup since leaving us. Last season, we beat two lower league sides fairly comfortably.
Hopefully an early goal will settle things and we'll be in the next round by 2:30.

Roberts on the bench and Hall not on the squad. We’ve got more than enough technical ability in that team I just worry if they make it a physical game, hopefully our quality wins it. COYB

Good to see Joel Taylor start. Matty Williams on bench a bit curious? Adam Thomas up front?

Is Hall injured? Not even in the squad despite there being two extra places on the bench.

On 601 red button it’s showing archery From Wikipedia "As of 2023, the BBC will no longer be providing additional Red Button streams for any events. Instead, it will be directing viewers to watch additional feeds via the BBC iPlayer. 2023 Wimbledon was the first major tournament not to provide any additional feeds on linear television.' So I don't think you can watch it on ordinary TV. You need to go on iPlayer or the BBC Football site.

Going for either 0-0 or a 1-0 Cupset sadly.
Can tell what it’s going to be like based on their manager’s bullish confident comments in the week - they’re going to get stuck in with a team full of 6’ 7” brick shithouses who bully our pint-sized midfield ballers on a shit pitch in torrential wind and rain and score a scummy sloppy goal to win it or Stanway saves a penalty to get a 0-0.
Whyteleafe basically.
Hope I’m wrong of course. All we need to do it match their desire, effort and commitment and we should cruise to a comfortable win.

Show them respect, yes but we should win this game.

We should be beating these, Macclesfield beat them 7-0 last year in a cup match.

Pretty sure Cal will have a better idea how to cope with a team like that than Terry Smith did.

I'm surprised that Williams and Roberts are on the bench. I would have thought they would be the first names on the teamsheet for a game like this
