There's a real concern that they are about to be wound up.
When Becchetti bought them from Barry Hearn they were a L1 play-off finalist. At best they are now a Conference team. Shades of SV?

I think so, the club has been completely ruined and I can't see any way back now, sadly.

Been on the cards for ages However, because they have a much bigger public profile than the old CCFC + dare I say it, their location in London, it wouldn't surprise me if there wasn't another rescue deal or a "lenient" arrangement if they were to be demoted further

It would be good if York got a reprieve. Much prefer an away day there than a trip to Orient. They need opportunity to reform and rebuild.

I stood outside Bootham Crescent twice last season, but missed our match because I was in Benidorm.
Never seen a match there. I wonder what the situation is with their new ground and whether it's dead now?

Although Orient away in our relegation season under Smith then Atkins remains my favourite away game. What an atmosphere that day. Seemed like everyone was joining in the singing.

Much better for us if Orient survive and are forced to do extreme cost cutting measures and are forced to play kids next season. That will fill a relegation spot and mean we only have to avoid the three others. Never want to see a club go bust and their perilous position could be to Chester's advantage.
If York get a reprieve they will finish higher than Chester.

I don't think so

Remember going away there might of been 06 or 07 on a tuesday night, scrappy 1-0 win, and I think Drummond got the goal.

My favourite away game ever. 90 minutes of singing. And as you say, everybody joined in. Superb.

We did indeed win 1-0, Drummond with the goal. A result that put us up to 2nd in League Two. As much as a pessimist that I am, by then I was convinced we were going to actually go up. It unraveled dramatically after then. Bottom of the League by end of March. Shame, because Keith Curle produced a style of football that's not been matched by a Chester side since.

Whether it's not paying players or offering players contracts that you then don't give them Chester will always find a weird and wonderful way to spunk a promising season up.

On the evidence of what I've seen I'd have York down as a solid mid-table side if they got a reprieve, rather than a top five team. Yes they had a generally strong second half to the season and have some decent players like Parkin, but they suffered a couple of poor home defeats in the run-in and I thought they rode their luck a bit in winning the FA Trophy final.
