Well done the referee for sending Moses off.

Arsenal beat Chelsea 2-1, although I dosed off for about half an hour. You are right WB, it isn't as good as it used to be.

To be fair it wasn't a bad game at all.

To be fair it wasn't a bad game at all. It was a good game, end-to-end at times but the FA Cup isn't as important/competitive for the bigger teams now which is a shame.

I think because Lincoln did well there's a conspiracy theory on here that the FA Cup is dead. Last night showed two teams at full strength desperately trying to win the cup, exactly the same in terms of its competitiveness as it has been as long as I can remember. The only thing I'd say is some teams choose to prioritise trying to get promoted or not get relegated a bit more now.

Best FA Cup season for a long while, mainly due to the exploits of Lincoln and Sutton . . . until the latter sadly took the Murdoch dollar!! Good game yesterday.

As someone who barely follows Chester I watched this yesterday and was hoping for an Arsenal win just so JT could not win one last medal.
Anyway I was entertained by the game and glad to see the ref not bottle it on the Alexis goal and the Moses dive. Which could well of ultimately cost the game.

The top teams always take the FA Cup seriously and put out strong teams. The teams doing it no favours are the likes of Southampton and West Brom who end up playing a 2nd string team so they can achieve an amazing mid table finish and get knocked out by a Milwall.

Sadly I've also lost interest. I have no problems with teams fielding weakened sides. What I do have an issue with is the later kick off time and the American style shenanigans that proceed the game. Maybe I'm a boring old traditionalist but I used to love cup final day and I can't help but feel that the younger generation are missing out on what was the greatest day in the football calendar.

A bit of trivia - 60 years ago Aston Villa beat the Busby Babes in the final and a player in that final went on to play for Chester - who was he?
