Made up for Albert. Really works hard and is a really nice fella.
Governance appointment looks solid, great credentials. Hopefully the new commercial manager can find money in todays climate to help support the club. Ground in dire need of some bits doing as well as the constant look to improve our 1st team infrastructure.
Good luck all.

Maybe in close season the club could put out a list of what is in dire need of repair, as I'm sure amongst our whole fanbase there maybe someone that could do it as a freebee or low cost to the club.

I have to ask, as in 50 years of working I have never heard of a governance director, what role does that cover?

I have to ask, as in 50 years of working I have never heard of a governance director, what role does that cover? Wiki definition Governance is the process of making and enforcing decisions within an organization or society. It encompasses decision-making, rule-setting, and enforcement mechanisms to guide the functioning of an organization or society. Effective governance is essential for maintaining order, achieving objectives, and addressing the needs of the community or members within the organization

Albert is now General Manager. Is that what you have intended when you say Manager. Governance Manager is a more specific role.

Not single-handedly, which is why businesses have more specific roles and people with specific skills and knowledge doing them.

The club had a governance director for a number of years in Richard Lynes, who many of you will know. From memory, Rich was part of a governance working group that spent a lot of time looking at the club’s operational structure, decision-making processes etc.
Governance can mean different things, but within football it’s primarily around ensuring the board operates in line with the constitution, acts in the club’s best interests and is accountable to the owners/supporters. It’s probably more critical now than ever with the fan led review, white paper and independent regulator on the way.
Adrian has a lot of relevant experience (not just in football) and is also involved with the Fair Game campaign, which we have been heavily involved with.
