Was an absolute disgrace, him & Liam Davies in the same team was a real low point. Liam Davies, by far and away one of the worst footballers I’ve ever seen. The name literally just makes me shudder. One of the worst if not the worst player I've seen wearing the blue and white.

Given an initial six-month contract by McCarthy, which he then extended to 12 months on the basis of him scoring in a pre-season friendly against Runcorn Town. However, I think he was still playing in this division for Curzon until fairly recently.

I surprised no on has mentioned the great Jamie Rainaldo!
Probably his greatest achievement was missing a simple one-on-one away at FC United, paving the way for George Horan's last minute winner!

We're talking the worst players to wear the shirt, and yet nobody has mentioned Sam Hill or Vaughan Jnr.
The worst footballers I have ever seen. Saying James Alabi and Lucas Dawson and suchlike were worse than those pair of clowns is an absolute injustice.
Alabi had a good solid season for us before he left, Dawson was frustrating but at least had fleeting moments of pure genius.
Hill and SVJ wouldn't have had them playing sunday league footy

I am surprised nobody has mentioned Drewe Broughton. He didn't play many games for us and we managed to off load him to Boston which helped them get relegated from the league.

I honestly don’t think it’d be an exaggeration to say that Dawson is the worst footballer I’ve ever seen - and I’m not just limiting that to Chester players. Was an absolute disgrace, him & Liam Davies in the same team was a real low point. Liam Davies was the worst player I've seen in a Chester shirt. Looked like a Sunday league player.

Look up Steve Malone online and I challenge you find out anything about him as a footballer other than that he played for Chester once against Whyteleafe and was subbed off after 15 minutes.

Goran worse than all these by some distance

Goran worse than all these by some distance I thought he had a couple of ok performances. By which I mean meeting bare minimum for a match but agree overall was rubbish. Kwik Ajet? Did he ever get a game? Kamu Laird looked shocked he’d scored on his debut (ball bounced off him and went in as I recall).

Thought you could use your hands in a game of football. Mental. Kwik Ajet never played a single game. We all thought he sounded amazing when he signed with his exotic name. What a mental time that was.

Kwik Ajet never played a first-team game, think he may have played in that Cheshire Cup game v Tranmere where Smith didn't realise it wasn't an important competition. I saw him in a non-league game some years later, possibly playing for Wakefield & Emley as they were known at the time. He actually looked an OK player at that level.

In other ex-player news, Joe Lynch is off to Dubai. He was a useful squad player for us, but was never going to start ahead of Murray, Weeks, Glendon or Whitehouse

Harry White Jordan Chappell John McCombe Perhaps not the worst but all utter shite. Jordan Chapell possibly wins the award for being consistently poor for such a long time. Most of the worst players get found out fast, but he was here for three seasons I think and was useless week after week.

A player I really hated was Luke George. If he wasn't injured he was suspended, seemed to get booked every time he played but never for a tackle. Just ambled around the pitch getting himself in trouble. Total waste of space.

Funnily enough. I've a similar story involving Sam Hill. We were playing at Leigh RMI one evening when Gordon Hill had just become manager. About 15 minutes in Andy Porter steamed into one of their players right in front of us, and there was a bit of pushing and shoving. Andy turned to Sam and said "you can fuck off too you shithouse". He meant it too. We lost 3-0 and we were dreadful. Found out a few days later that just before the game Gordon Hill had told the whole squad they weren't good enough, and were being put on the transfer list.

Harsh to brand James Alabi as ‘’one of our worst players’’. He scored 17 goals in an average side, left us for a fee, and will always be remembered for his four-goal haul in our demolition of Aldershot Town. Not very many former Chester players can say that, so he deserves some respect for it. When I was younger I used to go to all of the soccer schools and Junior Blues events; he was a guest for a couple of them and was brilliant with the kids.
When our women’s team played away at Runcorn Linnets last November, Joe Lynch was playing for a Sunday League side in the match before, and I had a chat with him. He’s a good lad and did a decent job for us in his brief stint here. Definitely a more-than-capable National League North footballer, but unfortunately he just couldn’t get a foothold into a midfield containing the likes of Declan Weeks and Elliott Whitehouse. Wish him well and hope he enjoys his time in Dubai.
As for who’s our worst ever player, I could go on all day! Gareth Seddon, Jason Jarrett, Shaquille McDonald, Jamie Rainford, Jamie Reed, Wade Joyce, Lucas Dawson, Craig Lindfield, Lathaniel Rowe-Turner, Liam Davies, Dom Smalley, Louis Gray, Luke George, George Green, and Luke Jordan are a few I can name in my 14 years as a Seals supporter.

It’s noticeable how many of the ‘worst players’ were from when we were in the National League, yet with the odd exception such as Rainford you rarely see players named from our years playing lower down than that.
