Not at all, reckon as a footballer he could do a decent job for us still at this level, but as he left the show first he has a very poor memory or not to upset anyone he is a little slow on the uptake

What was he on that for? Sounds like they're really struggling for celebrities!

What was he on that for? Sounds like they're really struggling for celebrities! Think the contestants are just commoners rather than celebrities. With that being said, though, he does seem to have a staggeringly impressive collection of friends and contacts in the game for someone who’s spent most of his career in non-league - and he must have a good agent to have continued to play at the level he has for so long despite a pretty terrible goal return ever since leaving us. He’s got a fairly successful podcast at the moment, too, so it wouldn’t surprise me if he decides to have a more serious crack at trying to make it on TV once he hangs up his boots.

Not sure what went wrong with this lads career,. He had all the attributes to play at a higher level. Probably not a targetman but better playing off the shoulder of the last man. Good turn of pace, strong and a decent goals return for us

One one of the worst strikers I’ve ever seen at the club.
Never forgive him for his performance v Wrexham away.

Maybe a slight exaggeration but he was crap and still is.

What other ex-Chester players have made unexpected appearances on television?
I remember it being mentioned that one-game wonder Mark Clifford was on one of those home makeover shows once. Also Andy Harris had been on something called "Britain's Brainiest Footballer" or something before he signed for us.

Great memories of the game at Braintree when he absolutely destroyed them in the 2nd half. Also, a thoroughly nice guy.

Whatever you think of Alabi, he did actually seem to find the net for us, even if his stats were a bit padded out. Really nice lad who went out of his way to do community work for us as well.
Always thought he was a bit mismanaged elsewhere, because he was strong and muscly managers always seemed to use him as a target man when that absolutely wasn’t his game at all.

He was rubbish. His one good season with us was the aberration, not the rest where he couldn’t hit a cow’s arse. He couldn’t win headers, wasn’t quick, wasn’t a particularly good finisher & didn’t hold the ball up well. We’ve had worse strikers but he’s easily the most overrated.

Few things more exciting than a new striker or two coming in.

Alabi was an easy target, but he scored a pearler at Kiddy, demolished Aldershot plus he won the penalty and put it away against Wrexham. Just a shame he chose Tranmere.

Hmmm...58 games for us over two seasons, 23 goals. I think you are confusing him with someone else? As you say, we've certainly had worse strikers. Tranmere must have seen something in him.

As I said, that season was the aberration. Tranmere saw 9 games 0 goals & got rid. He never got anywhere near that tally again because he genuinely wasn’t very good.

Didn’t he score 5 goals in a pre-season friendly for Tranmere and they thought he was the new messiah. At that point he still thought he could play at the highest level.
