Signs for Hartlepool!
I can't really believe he's managed to find a club that are probably expected to be at least pushing to get back into the league. He's a shocking player, with a hand full of decent performances. He was plagued with injury and banned for biting someone, waste of space, what a relief he won't be with us.
Nothing against him personally, but as a player for Chester, was more a hindrance.

That certainly works for us, without being harsh.
Heβs never got going with the constant injury problems but heβs never really looked good enough. Expected him to drop down a league to be honest.
Best of luck to him though.

Delighted he's not with us next year. Every time I saw his name on the teamsheet last season I winced.
Best of luck of course.

Unbelievable! What a waste of a wage he was for two seasons. Worst captain since Steve Vaughan Junior! Won't be long before he's sat in the stands, either suspended or holding a sick note. Must have a decent agent to bag another deal at this level!

Unbelievable Jeff! I'm sure there are better midfielders in the League of Wales than George. Has Harrison watched George at all? He was so far behind play last season it was shocking.
I was worried that he was going to re-sign thus tempering the good solid signings that have been made in recent weeks.

Came to us with a very good CV, but mediocre an understatement, but nevertheless good luck to him.

It's weird how they've all signed for higher-placed clubs though. Hunt to Mansfield (Football League, narrowly missed L2 playoffs), Richards to Dover (constant play-off challengers), George to Hartlepool (big fish in this league), "my best ever signing" Hudson to TNS (Champions League football)...
An outsider looking in could be forgiven for questioning the managers judgement!

Hunt is a fairly decent player at this level, the others aren't and didn't show enough to deserve a contract. Dover look a sinking ship this season to me, lsot some big players and signed some lads that certainly aren't of the same caliber. Their chairman already threw his toys out the pram last season regards attendances, so i think budget may have been cut. Hartlepool could be after him as a squad player for all we know, although yes he is poor! Hudson, TNS are garbage and always will be, wouldn't say that's going on to better things playing in that league!

Looked like a great signing when he arrived but he never quite got going. Always felt there was a good player in there trying to get out and to compare him with SVJ is way over the top. But probably for the best that he moves on as I don't recall too many outstanding (any?) games. He's the sort of player who could easily have stayed and made up a squad number but if we are to improve we have to look for better. Impressed with most of the signings so far - even with the loss of Hughes and Alabi the squad is looking stronger than last year.

Hartlepool have actually gone on to sign Jack Munns as well today, who is actually a very good player at this level. Stark contrast to the signing of George.

I'm not sad to see him go at all. He didn't deserve the role as a captain and never got going. Signing for Hartlepool is quite surprising, as I thought he would drop down a division. But I have to wish him all the best at Hartlepool though! π΅βͺοΈ

Makes me think George will be there to make up the bench rather than be the midfield general! Looking forward to finding out who this Left back we're signing is on Monday/Tuesday. Wouldn't be surprised if it's not quite the level of Turnbull/Hannah/Halls and co. but with Sam being sold we may be surprised.

Dave Powell mentioned a possible signing early next week and i had heard a few birds about the club saying it's a defender so i've thought instantly it will be a left back, with that being a position we really need to sort. Could well be a utility man that can play in defence, but doubt it. My money is on Muggleton, we will see.

York's other left back, 24 year old Alex Whittle, is contracted there for another season, but he wants to leave as he doesn't want Conference North football; Mills has agreed to let him leave. I've been told he is a top quality player! He lives in Liverpool too so we are ideal for him if he wants National League football. I followed him on Twitter last night, and very quickly he actually followed me back, is it a sign?! π

Happy to see him leave. On paper looked like a good signing. In reality an utter disaster.

It's great news for us, though. He's been incredibly disappointing.

Relieved he's gone tbh and whilst I'm sure he would have only provided cover. I was surprised we offered him a new deal after last season and even more surprised he's gone to Hartlepool.
Got nothing against the lad, but it just never worked out for him here.

Craig Harrison's decision to sign Luke George is probably his worst since asking his barber for a 90's curtains haircut.
