He must be a better player than he showed himself to be here, but two years is plenty of time and I never saw much from him at all apart from constant injuries, poor discipline and ambling about ineffectively on the pitch.
I know it's tough for players who get injured, but he never looked like he wanted to make up for lost time when on the pitch. I often think the reason some players get injured a lot is because they're playing above their level of fitness and ability. Compare him to Ruffer, another player who struggled with injuries, but when he was on the pitch he looked like he didn't care if he got injured again, and somehow carried on playing into his late 30s.
Then there's all the silly suspensions he'd get. For a player who never made a tackle I don't know how he got so many yellow cards. He'd often have petulant little kicks out and suchlike. Then there was the biting incident, which the extreme balance of probability suggested he was guilty of. He was very fortunate the club stood by him over that as we probably shouldn't have.
In short, a hugely disappointing signing, especially given the reputation he came with. I can only assume Harrison is putting faith in a return to a player he saw 2-3 years ago, as there's no way he should be playing at this level based on what we saw.
