Since kirk w.left end of last season we have been short of a target man/ goal scorer 2 strikers were signed start of season neither lasted long and more recently 2 more signed Christian Norton who had not scored in 30 odd games(thankfully he got git a couple recently)and the other guy whose name escapes me who has moved on to marine. Defence wise we have been ok hence why I was more than a little surprised when we brought in another defender by all accounts Nathan wood thorpe was doing ok with one man of the match performance and we had Liam Edwards who could not get back in the team after injury.we also have other defensive options sitting in the stands not even able to get on the bench. As Neil turner said in his interview with cal last evening Southport had a presence up front. Without being disrespectful to Southport we are a bigger club than them how come they can sign a loan striker from Scunthorpe on loan doing a job required and we are struggling to find someone suitable? Just a thought

We simply don't have the money at the club to pay a strikers wage,I know fans don't like to here that but unfortunately we do not have a backer like other clubs who will pay for one when its needed. We are doing OK for what we are just need to sneak in the play offs and see where we can go .

It was 90 minutes of nothing - no shots, no decent passing movements, no excitement, nothing. And apparently it was a lot better than Saturday, which I fortunately missed. Our only attacking threat comes from our fullbacks.

Recruitment has been poor. Even questioning Peers a little bit who wouldn’t be cheap.

So your saying the 3 above mentioned players are on £200 a week ? I say they are nearer £300+ each.

Need to stop signing kids and sign some players with experience if we’re serious about promotion

Cal got a lot right last year with recruitment. This year it’s been quite the opposite. If we are going to play like we have done at home then you need a target man who can hold the ball up. Our strikers all seem very similar - players that need the ball to feet or to run on to. None can hold the ball and play with their backs to goal. The closest we had was Kole Hall but he just wasn’t the same when he came back from injury. That Bennett who played for Southport on Tuesday was an example of what we’re missing.
