We have had that many long term injuries this season, every time one of our players is injured it appears to be a severe injury, they are out for that long. This begs the question are our injured players getting proper physiotherapy, re-habilitation?

I think this is a valid question. I get the benefits of not publicly announcing how long players are out for, but Akintunde for example hasn't played for over three months now. That seems like a serious injury.

We seem to have a habit of saying players aren't far away from fitness, then 4 weeks later said player is still out.
The likes of Hughes and Mahon seemed to have injuries and were well on there back apparantly, here we are today both still on bench.
Chappell do we have any idea how he is out? AKintunde we keep hearing he's coming back but no dates, same with killock previously.
When you hear with Macca before a game he says we have a fully fit squad, most times we don't have, it's like he says that so no one will ask about individuals.

This is the problem with having a thin squad imo,

I'd rather players took their time coming back from injury than rushing, and damaging it even more.

I think we are right to be questioning these "injuries" we are never told what the problem is so cannot estimate how long that player may be out . Time for J Mac to be more forthcoming .

We have had long term injuries to so many players Horwood, Mahon, Huges, Killock,Chappell, Akintunde and even loan players Roberts and Vassell. Have we just been unlucky? I also think it would be helpful to keep the fans informed of their progress when players are out injured.

I see KIllock regular going hell for leather on the excersise bike in total fitness. Doesn't look injured to me.

Think they are being super cautious with Killock. Didn't take long for him to get injured again after initial lay off early on on season

We never get to find what specific injuries our players are suffering from! Are our players being treated on the National Health or by our own Medical Team, who I would hope are fully qualified? Maybe Alan can give us details, he does answer a lot of questions on DC, cue someone saying send a PM.

A few more details for the fans wouldn't go amiss I wouldn't have thought.

You'll never find out the true reasons behind injuries. Some could even be a way of benching a player for a matter and not making it pubic.

Killock and Akintunde have spent time at the FA's St George's Park National Football Centre where they received specialist sports rehab treatment for their respective injuries. In an interview several months ago McCarthy hinted at the reason behind his mantra that 'everyone's available'. He indicated that if he were to name players who were doubts or unavailable prior to matches he would be handing his opponent an advantage. His reasoning is I think, that given the relatively small squad size that would make it easier for his rivals to predict the likely lineup and tactics of his team and so setup accordingly.

Akintunde had knee ligament damage ( according to the Chron), which will mean he's out for a few months surely? He's been out for over three so I guess we'll see him again before the end of the season, but once he's recovered he'll still have to get fit.

He shown some promise but is he just unlucky or is his body not up to the rigours of football at this level? Interesting one for Macca - can we get better than him in the summer?

I was never really convinced that Sam Hughes was injured at all. I see these players a lot in Total Fitness and they are very friendly, but as soon as you ask them about injuries they go all coy. Wasn't Killock out injured all last season? We need to do better due diligence before we sign players. Our injuries have been have been way over what you should expect. Dragonslayer is right in asking are these players getting the appropriate treatment?
