Tonight its Alfreton on 71 points V Gloucester
Alfreton are playing their game in hand so we could do with Gloucester getting a result, highly doubtful but possible . Chorley 77 play KL this game will not have any influence.

Spennymoor against Banbury has been rearranged for Thursday after being called off tonight. One of the very few dates left when it could have been fitted in with Banbury already having a midweek game next week, but it means Spennymoor will be playing less than 48 hours before that game at Alfreton.

We need Tamworth to beat South Shields and then out score them on the final day and we’ll make the playoffs on goal difference…. 🤞

When you're relying on other teams to do you favours it says it all really. It was in our hands & we should have already booked a playoff spot & will be extremely fortunate if we do manage to squeak in.

We need Tamworth to beat South Shields and then out score them on the final day and we’ll make the playoffs on goal difference…. 🤞 South Shields play Southport on the last day. It would be better for us if Southport are not safe from relegation going into that game and have extra motivation to get a positive result. Basically the opposite of what we’d want with Darlo. Anyway, it will be irrelevant if we don’t succeed at Brackley so just got to get the win needed to stay in with a chance.

Basically, we need three out of South Shields, Curzon, Boston and Spennymoor to all drop at least three points between now and the end of the season.
I'd say it's about 50/50 whether that happens. There is a chance if we win both remaining games, which would put us on 74 points and with a goal difference of at least +25, which should be better than anyone else's except maybe South Shields.

If Kings Lynn lose it keeps them in the relegation battle which could be important with their last game being against Spennymoor. And gives Darlo a better chance of getting safe so they don’t need anything out of their last game against us. If Darlo beat Farsley on Saturday they'll be safe by the time they play us, as they would be 5 points ahead of Farsley.
I wouldn't mind so much if they had to come here and win, because that would open up the game at least. The nightmare situation would be if they draw on Saturday and Blyth lose, because that would mean a draw against us would keep them up. If they come to the Deva and play for a point, they're bound to get it - or all three.
Of course, this is all assuming we win at Brackley, which is far from a given.

Yep - all the permutations entirely depend on winning at Brackley which is a big if. Agree we are doomed if anyone needs to come to the Deva and get a draw. I think me and 10 mates could achieve that!

This week is doing my head in.
I’ve gone from basically writing off the season to convincing myself (stupidly) that we’ve an even chance of making the playoffs. I really should know better.
God help me if we win Saturday.

God help me if we win Saturday. I wouldn't worry about it until 5pm Saturday. Will start looking at the permutations if we win at Brackley; otherwise it's all irrelevant. Will be interesting to see how we approach a game from which we might otherwise be happy to take a point.
