Don't see why it is a "bonkers idea" I have willed 10% of my estate to the club which at current value is circa 200k. That is a lot of CFU subscriptions! Hopefully they will have to wait some time for it though. Really don't understand your instant dismissal of the idea, is it any more rediculous that leaving it to the RSPCA or likewise? It's an excellent idea. Lots of charities offer a will writing service. Obviously it needs to be done with a bit of tact, but I'm sure there are plenty of fans out there who would like to leave a few bob to the club. I raised this several years ago with a former chairman of the club, but I doubt anything was ever done. I think there was a case a while back when someone bequeathed about £1m to a non league club (possibly Scarborough). Loads of examples out there. From £100 to buy a round of drinks for the players to £2-300000. Any rich fans we can knock on the head after forging their will?

Seems the Leap 76 chap has taken to Instagram to defend himself somewhat in response to allegations of non-payment

As others have said, requesting will donations is common practice for charities. It doesn't mean that they are hoping people keel over so they can get their hands on the money.
I would suggest any will donations go into improving the infrastructure of the club or to the community trust.
Wills are about creating a legacy, so that people know that their money is being used for lasting good. It would leave a sour taste if someone's donation was spent on a forward who couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo!

Right, we’ve got some big names on here to start writing letters to.
I’ll take the Duke and Daniel Craig, anyone want to share the others? I’ll have my mum and dad spell check it for me.

I’ll start a petition and hope we can make it to parliament to legalise euthanisia in this country so those who wish to donate in their will can donate it sooner rather than later.
Honestly, these posts on this thread 😂

From facebook If Chester FC do ever make the step back to the National League, where is the finance going to come from to survive? The levels of debt are beyond belief in search of promotion & survival. Solihull Moors who attract less than 1,000 fans a week lost £1.8 million. Borham Wood made a profit of £195,000, mainly by Arsenal Ladies playing there. The Goats lost over £5m (that debt is now £9m), their weekly playing budget is currently £97,500 in League 2. Football at lower league level needs a total reset to be financed within its income limits. Fan owned clubs will always be at a disadvantage due to its financial constraints. Full list of profit/loss 22/23 Only 2 clubs showing a small profit link

Was in bluestone at the weekend and had some old fella a man united "fan" telling me that what Chester needed was Daniel Craig to invest. What we need is local people to acknowledge that they have a local team and support it, not think football is a soap opera on tv.

If you want the best players to play for your club, usually you have to pay them well too. Unless there are unbelievable benefits to playing. I know in other sports in the UK they will have a link with the local University and be able to offer a player, a subsidiaries wage and 3 year University degree.
