Yes, I also remember Hudson making a great tackle last season.

Yes, I also remember Hudson making a great tackle last season. Yes he did. Just a pity it was Sam Hughes that he tackled.

Think he's a good signing IMO. Played at Luton and got bags of experience at this level, Torquay were pants this season but had some good players in the past few seasons. Horwood can cover, and perhaps Waters too? Not sure what position Waters is strongest in but sure we'll see more of him this season.

I hope I'm wrong, but I think he's going to prove to be the only duff signing we've made this season.

Torquay fans are the most bitter fans around. Said we were the worst team they've seen in years after we won at their place? We were extremely lucky that day and the ref made some strange decisions in our favour.

Horwood won't provide competition for anyone at left back. At best he is an adequate wing back. I sat in the stands watching a very poor Southport deserve to take the lead against an inept Chester when a speculative ball was collected by Horwood wide on the left. Beating Higgins he then brilliantly lobbed the keeper to win all three points. For that alone I'm glad he played for us last season. Where would we be now without those points? Thanks Evan. Southport never took the lead. We won 1-0.

Try reading it again, as I said they deserved to, not that they had taken the lead deservedly. I know the score was 0 - 1 in our favour, which is why I mentioned only one goal.

Your statement is ambiguous and could be better phrased, but I only read it once before commenting.

Your statement is ambiguous and could be better phrased, but I only read it once before commenting. Sorry you read it the wrong way, and thanks for giving it a second reading. Whilst I agree it may have been ambiguous I think the phrasing is correct subject to a second reading. Apologies for my opening remark also, as I appreciate the numerous comments and information snippets you add to the forum. Two weeks holiday for me tomorrow and back in time for preseason. Kingsley James' arrival means I go on holiday a happy man.

If Torquay think our new full back is bad, wait until they see their new full back who previously played for us. They're in for a nasty surprise.

It certainly made up for all the rain ... and remember we'd signed dot at this point last season.

I hope I'm wrong, but I think he's going to prove to be the only duff signing we've made this season. According to the Chronicle Tom Shaw reckons Lanthaniel or Snoop as he was apparently known at Torquay is "one of the best defenders he has played with"

Confirmed as Lathaniel Rowe-Turner from Torquay I don't want to Jynx the lad, but he's been a far cry from what the Torquay fans said about him. Think he's looked a really solid left back, strong, big and can play a fair pass. I think he's one to watch for us this season IF he carries that into the season.
