Brilliant, and best wishes to Stanley. Some of us put on a few years since Christmas and now feel 94. I'm hoping to be rejuvenated soon, when preseason starts. I hope Stanley got a team shirt also.

Would love to see Stanley's best XI from his time watching. Wonder how many of the players I've watched since 75/76 would get in his team.

My best X1 was simple. They all played against Leeds in November 1974. (At the time it was the Great Leeds.) Hope Stanley was there. Sorry to reminisce, but that's what us older fans do. It only takes one match to create a lifetime of dreams. Don't forget, a great team is always better than the sum of the parts. What's your dream match?

My dad was a really big Leeds fan and couldn't believe that we played them off the park. To be fair, I was a bit of a fan of them too as their football was out of this world at the time - teamwork at its very, very best with the highest level of individual skills from every player. Is there any video footage of the game available anywhere, does anyone know?

One of the first Chester games I went to. Sadly was a Leeds fan at the time. I remember standing on the side and the Leeds supporters in the away end seemed to stretch up for miles. Undoubtedly the best Chester team ever. What was the attendance that night?

Like many of us, as a young lad I followed Leeds. I remember crying when they lost to Sunderland 1-0 in the cup final. Then I got brought to see Chester in 75/76 the year after their league cup exploits. The rest is history as they say.

The Newcastle game was a cracker as well, and closer.

...and only six months later the same Leeds team were in Paris for the European Cup Final. The great Bayern Munich could only put two past them. THAT is how good we were!!

Surely there's a programme article, or even a regular slot in the programme for this guy. As said, his thoughts on Vaughan, Smith, his favourite game.... Anyone on here involved in the media team and can sort it?

The Newcastle game was a cracker as well, and closer. Remember MacDonald applauding a save by Grenville Millington!
