I would imagine it is a mixture of youth and fringe players but still a good fixture non the less

Yeah. They had a surprisingly strong side. The right back got sold to Luton the week after and made 30+ appearances. The centre half played for United in the PL. A couple of others were sold for £10m. Unfortunately we also played a youth and fringe team, and got totally outclassed. Hopefully we'll put out a strong side. It would be interesting to see Burke and Williams against their u21 squad to see how they match up. The United first team squad are off to the USA pre season. They've got Rangers at Ibrox on the 20th and then Arsenal in the USA on the 28th.

Really impressed with how we moved the ball around last night. Looks like we have a set formation, with the midfielders and wing backs pushing higher up.
Just a friendly of course but the friendly against United last year I'm not sure we touched the ball in their half.
The next two friendlies I can see both sides and their fans being up for it so another good test

Didn't go last night but just watched the highlights and we looked good. Rawlinson causing chaos in the box from set pieces, albeit against kids. Him, Burke, Bainbridge, Pollock and Williams could have a field day from them next season.
That could be the difference between winning the league and settling for play-offs I reckon.

Liked the look of both Rawlinson and Bainbridge, really put themselves about at set pieces, something we’ve been lacking.

Having been in Cyprus for our first two friendlies, it was my first chance to watch us back at the Deva this pre-season, so it was great to be back. Manchester United XI just about shaded it, although we played better than the scoreline may suggest. As superhans said, we never had a look-in against United last year and received a pasting, but the other night it was a much more even contest. We made some nice passages of play going forward, while during the second-half we had a spell where we could’ve got a goal or two back.
It’s still just pre-season, but I’ve already noticed some improvements to our side from last season. We have more talkers out on the pitch, which was something we clearly lacked last campaign. Cam Mason and Connell Rawlinson in particular seem to be the most vocal of the lot. The latter made a mistake for the first goal, but putting that to one side he had a decent game, while he was a threat from set-pieces, which is something else we weren’t good at last season. Jordan Hunter acted as a flying wing-back who wasn’t scared to go forward, while he was in acres of space as well at times. Over the years we’ve struggled to recruit a proper full-back who can stop crosses at one end, and can also put them in at the other, but I’m hopeful we’ve landed one in Hunter. Jack Bainbridge adds grit, height, and physicality in midfield, which is something else we desperately missed last season. He’s another talker who’s tough in the tackle, and I’ve been impressed by him so far. Our recruitment has been excellent, and couldn’t have been much better really. We have a handful of proven players with experience of winning our league, some youth, a rock solid defence, leaders, physicality in midfield, and now we have a proven goalscorer at this level, which is the cherry on top. We certainly have the ingredients to be right in the mix this season, so let’s hope we’ll hit the ground running two weeks tomorrow.
On a different note, does anybody know what all that graffiti at the back of the Harry Mac is all about?

Was hard to tell from where I was stood, but it looked like a group of people in different colours. The Harry Mac will be closed tomorrow, so should be able to get a better look of it then.
