Connahs Quay has a gold medal Paralympian in the pool. My three lads all have their swimming lessons in the Quay and the centre is booming with this result. Well done Rhys!

So the Olympics is over roll on la but what have we learnt from these games team GB gets one more medal than in Tokyo but 8 less golds also on the subject of lottery funding hockey should now lose it's funding have we underachieved in terms of golds is the lottery funding being shared out right of course Keely was amazing and at 22 has the world at her feet piddock too who was my favourite GB moment anyway signing out now take care One of the problems with lottery funding is that the only beneficiary sport wise is Sport England, so come the Olympics the other constitute nations are not in a position to produce and fund contributing athletes. I can only presume the people running the lottery think that people in the other nations don't buy tickets! |

Probably one for the "minor annoyances" thread, but what's with medal winners biting their medals? I'm sure it's just journalists and photographers telling them to do it, but why?
