I too would like to see this happen. We have had quizzes in the blues bar for a couple of years now and nothing has come of it. Quiz nights have been a relative success. We need more people to attend these quiz nights which are held on the last Thursday of every month in the Blues Bar, starting at 8pm. We have raised over £3,000 so far from quiz nights alone. To improve the disabled facilities, will cost well in excess of the potential fee we have received for Sam Hughes. If more people attend the quiz nights, the more money the club can put forward to contribute towards the disabled facilities. Please come along to the quiz nights in the Blues Bar, it only costs £1 per person and most importantly, it's fun!! The facility you're referring to though, is the disabled lift up to legends lounge, i expect? It would not cost as much as a fraction of that to get some disabled shelters to watch the game. That's what most people expect should happen sooner rather than later. The lift scenario, is unfortunate and will always cost a lot, but to at least make a start by keeping people sheltered would show more improvisation. I don't know any disabled people that attend, but i imagine it doesn't make for pleasant viewing come the winter.

The last i heard about disabled viewing was a price for shelters had been given and it was not too expensive i think the siting of them is the problem as it could obstruct others view .i think if we could get retrospective planning permision for vaughns boxes a ready made answer to our problem is there .what about a list of people with trade backgrounds to resolve any issues such as toilets and any alterations

As a disabled supporter (MS) I have to pay more attention to the weather forecast than the forthcoming match. As I can only make it to row three (on a good day) I have actually left games at half time because I have been soaked to the skin. As such, I now only attend if the weather allows me. Having a 100 mile round trip to home games doesn't help things either. From a personal point of view (although this would not help the majority of disabled fans), a handrail up a row of steps would be a godsend as I could (and those like me) at least sit further back in dryer surroundings. I had two ST's from from 2010 -2014, but now cherry pick my games. Shame.

Well this is the season to buy a Season Ticket again, believe we will have a facility for disabled fans to avoid the weather before the first game of this coming season, if rumours are true.

We've also managed to get rid of a lot of the passengers from last season such as George so that will free up monies for the new signings.

There was an erroneous message that appeared, I think on this board during the actual meeting, original source unknown I believe. Having been at that meeting I can assure you that no such figure was mentioned. The only figure mentioned was the projected season shortfall on gate receipts, including season tickets I think but can't be sure on that point, estimated prior to the last home game of the season. I recall that the no actual figure was given but thought likely to be in the region of £20k. Apologies if my memory is inaccurate.

Don't mean to be the bearer of bad news, but weren't we told at the last CFU meeting that we're on course to make a loss of about £75,000 this season? So either that is coming out of the rainy day fund or more than half of the Sam Hughes money has already been spent. Someone said it to a member on here to try and scare us. The loss is only 20k, not 75k.

That's the way it panned out at the meeting.

To improve the disabled facilities, will cost well in excess of the potential fee we have received for Sam Hughes. Seriously? What are we looking to do? I thought it was just a rain cover / surround like the dug outs to keep the weather off?

There is a line in the CFU renewal letter that disabled facilities are being installed in the West Stand.
Also says new websites for CFC and CFU imminent.
A 4G facility is critical to future development of young pros and academy players in my opinion. As are classrooms if the scholars programme is to run.
As regards Vaughans folly, Im happy to look at and draw up the plumbing and heating requirements if needed.

No, they're wanting a lift put into the ground floor so that disabled people can easily access the legends lounge. It will cost a huge amount. I still think that is excessive at the moment for a club with our limited resources. I'd like to think there are many people around the club that would happily help any disabled fan get into the legends lounge. For me, simple shelters would be affordable and would mean much much more to those fans than a lift up to the legends lounge!

I hardly ever see people in it either unless they're going to relocate, and open late some Tuesday nights, it would be shocking for midweek business

As above, whilst I expect that is something that the club would have to look at long term under their responsibility to disabled people (and possibly under the disability act, I'm unsure of that) the CFU letter states that work is about to start on disabled shelter in the West Stand.

Good news regards west stand. I think the club has been dealing with their summer business very well actually, and finally giving us a reason to get excited, at least on the pitch. It is a shame however, that with us every silver cloud appear to have a dark lining, rather than the other way around.
