I think we've developed a bit of an unhealthy attitude of racialising every crime that gets committed. If it's white on black/Asian, it must be racist. If it's black/Asian on white, it's due to rappers, knife culture, illegal immigrants and, inevitably, terrorism. Maybe the problem is murderers, not race or racism?

Personally, I was never that keen on the way the George Floyd murder was made out to be a racist incident, when first and foremost it was an instance of police brutality. I think there are racism issues within the police both here and in the US, but as far as I know, there has never been any clear evidence that racism was a factor in that case. There are racist attacks and murders of course and they should be treated as such, but only when the evidence is clear rather than inferred. Otherwise the knuckledraggers start thinking "well, we can jump to conclusions too", and tell us that black and Muslim people are inherently violent any time they are the perpetrators.
