Time to move on now, it was a loophole exploited that we really couldn't do much about, apart from offer Ben a contract extension that he would never have signed anyway.
Watching his progress, and hopefully Sam's, makes us an attractive club for younger players to sign for.

Can't help but think it would be sensible for the FA to put some sort of tribunal fee on the players return to the EFL, in future.
Would make it more of a gamble for Scottish clubs to snaffle players up given that any future sale back to England would have an inflated price to the buying club also which might help to discourage them from doing it.
Obviously the horse has bolted in this case though. Good to see he's doing well and progressing. Another one we can point to with prospective signings as developing at our little club before moving on to bigger and better things, along with Hughes, McConville and Sarce 🤣

It's not like we were the first club to fall foul of the Scottish loop hole and we won't be the last, let it go and let's get on with life, you could write a book on what ifs .
