Plans for the viewing platform looked impressive.

Good meeting that, sound was much better and it was good to follow the slides online. I couldn't make out some of the first plans of the viewing platform due to the light but the coloured drawings looked really good. That should be really impressive when built.
A few thoughts came to mind watching the meeting -
Viewing Platform - what is the plan in any emergency? I presume the lift cannot be used in a fire for example so what are the other options for evacuation.
Seals Lottery - could we increase the profile by having the draw done at half time on a match day? Emphasise the prize pots to be won and make it more visible to fans.
Fan zone - are there going to be toilets in the fan zone? Just thinking that it's not pratical to have a few beers there then nip into the main stand to the loo then having to go back. I'd imagine if so they would be portaloos.

As part of the viewing platform project, we’ll be reviewing other platforms such as that of Everton’s etc. but in my business we have PEEP and Evac-chairs in the case of an emergency. I would presume it would be very similar. Lotto - absolutely agree and also more exposure on the 50/50. The more visual and accessible it is, the more we will sell.

Always thought the same with the Seals Lottery to be honest. We only ever see the results of the draws after they've been conducted - and often I've seen the same winners names a few times. Looks a bit sus.
Better presence for that, similar to the 50/50, would be beneficial. Its only once a month so could definitely be done at half time of a game.

The Lottery certainly needs more publicity, I have paid in since it started but receive very little communication. I just 'searched' it and the last draw results seem to be July?

I've also had issues signing up for it, is it able to be done online yet? Last time I checked, the method of joining the Lottery wasn't far off needing to hand-write the form and send it via fax!!

Think all this is being looked at, with some communication coming in the next few weeks regarding a new (easier) way of signing up.
At least that is my understanding from what was said last night.

Looks good if turns out decent enough no reason why we can’t do the otherside of the main stand and improve the hospitality area / add more space for disabled fans

More expansion would be great but I wonder whether the grants would be there for that?

Just need to crack on with the fundraising now, let's publicise this as much as possible. It's a great feel-good story to improve the facilities for a very deserving group.

It is a blight on our club that every time it rains some of our most loyal supporters get soaked to the skins. This project is important because it is us looking after our own. Anything anyone can do to assist the fundraising that is going on around this be rest assured we will squeeze every penny in making this the brilliant facility our wheelchair and movement impaired supporters deserve. Every avenue for grant funding, accessibility funding etc are being explored, and all of the professionals involved have worked voluntarily on getting it this far. As a group of supporters and owners we now need to try to play our part in helping fund it.

Has there been any thought into this facility being part of a wider redevelopment of the main stand and hospitality area to generate more income going forward? The Blues Bar, the Legends Lounge, sponsor boxes etc. Would be more beneficial then doing a standalone platform and then having to try to work around the wider redevelopment further down the line, surely?

Potential is definitely there, Anyone know what’s going on with the boxes in the west stand that never got completed thanks to Vaughan? Seem to remember they didn’t have safety certificates or something

'We’d like to say a massive thank you to the first businesses and groups who have joined Chester FC’s 100 Club! The scheme has already seen an amazing 40 businesses or groups donating at least £100 towards the Accessibility Viewing Platform at the Deva Stadium. This project, run in partnership with Chester FC Community Trust and Blacon Seals Supporters Group, will help make the ground a more inclusive and welcoming experience for all'. chesterfc.com/40-businesses-are-signed-up-for-the-100-club/

Yes outline plans have been drafted for an extension of the offices and blues bar but would need investment of £1-1.5m The disabled viewing platform costing around £250-300k would be largely funded by grants.

Good to hear, I feel the whole thing needs to be done together.
Perhaps whilst waiting for such a major redevelopment of the stand/hospitality area we could provide clear Perspex dugout-esque shelters for those in need for a few years.

There’s something to be said about this idea. I can’t help but think that the prevailing direction of the weather would mean the shelters would have to be very large to be effective. I’m put in mind of the disabled shelter at Brackley which appears to do nothing more than direct the wind and rain into the face of the user!
