Be interesting to see what Scunny are actually like. Their fans aren't convinced,as they think they're just functional, well organised and limited. If they've got decent strikers,that might be the perfect formula for this league. Don't recall an exciting team winning this league recently.

Tend to agree with this. Easily the sort of game we win, it’s the Rushalls and Leamingtons that we don’t.

Really can’t wait for this. Both sides are in the upper echelons of the table, a bumper crowd, and it should be a cracking atmosphere. Just need the three points now!! We tend to raise our game in these types of matches, so I’m actually pretty confident that we’ll win. I wouldn’t have said that a few weeks ago (when Scunthorpe United were breaking away so early on), but they’re on a patchy run of form at the moment, having not won in their past four games, so it’s a good time to be playing them. Their last two games saw them knocked out of the FA Cup by lower-league Guiseley and a draw against struggling Oxford City, plus they had to take Step Four Newcastle Town to a replay earlier on in the cup. Some of their supporters are already questioning rookie Manager Andy Butler, but they’re still top of the league and have a squad that should be winning it by March (in my opinion).

We were dealt a setback last Saturday as we lost 3-1 away at Scarborough Athletic in the Emirates FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round. It was a very bad day at office, as we were outplayed by the hosts who just wanted it more than us on the day. It was gutting to go out of the cup, especially given a trip to Burton Albion would’ve been our reward. Dare I say it, that actually would’ve been a winnable tie and we would’ve taken well over 1,000 there, but the league has to be our priority now. We didn’t play the badly in the first-half, but we were still second best and slightly below par. For the first half an hour we coped pretty well, but that was until the in-form Dom Tear made it 1-0 to the hosts. We were definitely missing a Richie Bennett-esque player that afternoon, and he was the man who made it 2-0 as he kept his fine record against us going. We began the second-period rather brightly, but we were awful after that, and midway through the half Dom Tear got his second of the match to make it 3-0 to the Yorkshire outfit. Iwan Murray scored a terrific free-kick in what turned out to the last kick of the game, but without discrediting him, it was a meaningless goal in the grand scheme of things. A match to forget for sure, as we exited the cup with a whimper.

I’m very glad that Connell Rawlinson and Nathan Woodthorpe will be available today, as our defence was shocking last week without them pair. I understand Ollie Heywood was cup-tied, but I still don’t get why we played Harrison Burke at left-back. It was bad enough watching him play there at Spennymoor, and even more so at Scarborough, so we need to come up with an alternative plan in future. It promises to be a great game of football, so let’s all sing our hearts out and be that 12th man. All of the top six are playing each other this afternoon, so it’s a good opportunity for us to capitalise on teams dropping points, while we’d go level with Scunthorpe United with a win too. Buzzing for it now - let’s get the Deva rocking!

Should’ve won that and I get the feeling we may regret not winning it. Scunthorpe not up to much. Really impressed with Mottley-Henry, felt like we lost impetus when he went off but can understand due to his lack of games why he did. Midfield still doesn’t create enough and we’re at that stage where messing about with Weeks’ position to accommodate an anonymous Glendon is starting to affect his form. As for his set pieces, absolutely shocking.

Peers brilliant again but should’ve scored at least one. Woodthorpe consistently excellent and Bainbridge a deserved MOTM. Need to win on Tuesday. Referee was a wanker.
