Often he would be dropping deep to get the ball, fire a shot off or lay it off to a teammate and spin into the box for the return (even if there was a better option for him to assist a goal). He definitely pretty much did it all himself that season - and that showed last season without him. It’s a myth that the playoff season was expansive football with the team creating loads of chances for Willoughby. He literally did create 99% of his own goals himself.

I think Hunter, Murray and Turner should start tomorrow and freshen things up a bit . . . and hopefully Willoughby down the middle!

Prefer all our strikers than the Scunthorpe striker Whitehall. Don't want a player like that as he plays now. Wouldn’t mind him if he played clean. Is it management or just himself to play so unsportsmanlike. Where was the best player in the league on Saturday (Calum Roberts) nowhere because our whole team cancelled him out, apart from when he managed to feign a free kick. Some of the crosses that went in for us if our player was a metre nearer we would have won by 3. Sometimes to win a game you need to cancel out the other team we did that on Saturday but just failed to score. I remember Whitehall’s dad playing for us. A case of like father like son.

I remember Whitehall’s dad playing for us. A case of like father like son. Steve Whitehall was class for us. But not unsportsmanlike. Can anyone name a Chester player who has been consistently unsportsmanlike. Use of arms, pushing, backing in and then when they dont win the ball falling over. I know Iwan gets stick from opposing teams supporters. But I honestly think his height frustrates the teams centre backs because they can't use their upper body against him so just trip him, and in the process gets lots of kicks in his shins.

I remember Whitehall’s dad playing for us. A case of like father like son. Steve Whitehall was class for us. He made a great goal line save once with his hand. A resounding slap noise rang around the ground. Certain goal for the opposition saved. Referee did nothing. Much loud guffawing from the stands.

Much loud guffawing from the stands. I remember it, arguably over the line as well! To make matters worse we went straight up the other end and scored. Ref knew he'd cocked up and proceeded to give us nothing for the rest of the game. A 3-3 draw with Woking I think it was.

Defensively we’re solid but we’ve not been good enough in front of goal since the rushall game Need to shoot more and stop trying to walk the ball into the back of the net. Too slow when we break forward, Roll on tomorrow thought hopefully get a huge 3 points

Sometimes to win a game you need to cancel out the other team we did that on Saturday but just failed to score. In the big games that is what generally happens. Certainly has in our games last 3 years. The top teams tend to have the better strikers and creative players, and those win you those games. Saturday we cancelled them out really effectively, created 3 chances, but didn't take any of them. Tactically the Coach did his job, but didn't get the result he deserved. However, could that have been down to his team selection? Who knows.
