Not watched it for years. But when I have it's been all opinions by Gary (mega thousands) to present. So sad to see him leave, not!!!. Bring back the highlights of all matches with good commentary to each game. With all games with the same tv time. Not one having the majority time.

Watch it often, Lineker is great too. Doesn’t really give his opinion, more poses it to the guests, and anchors the programme brilliantly. Will be missed but glad he’s staying on for the next World Cup. England legend too, don’t forget.

Difficult for other people maybe but I suggest the following.
Who wants opinions from other guests they just argue.
Give me a programme with all the highlights with a superb commentary for all the games. Job done.
I don't want to be listening to a guest panel for half the programme.
Nor do I want an anchor to the programme.
As I said it needs a superb commentary and a quick analysis by a brilliant presenter.

The EFL show is decent, but was so much better with Colin Murray on.
Not a massive PL fan so never really watched MOTD, but I like Gary Lineker. Stands by his views and comes across as a good person.

Don’t really watch PL or MOTD that much, but always thought Lineker was a good host and a decent human being. Hope his replacement is a woman, if only to piss the gammons off.

I can see MOTD being dropped in the near future. In an era when there are usually only a handful of Saturday fixtures and you can now watch highlights on YouTube within an hour or so of Premier League games finishing, it seems increasingly redundant. That said I do sometimes watch it.
Regarding Lineker, whenever people say he's overpaid or overrated, I think of that Saturday where the Leicester helicopter crash happened, he knew the chairman of the club he supports must be dead, and his friend and ex-team mate Glenn Hoddle went into hospital the same day, and he had to sit and present football. He's a really good presenter. Seems to have irked some people by expressing kind and compassionate views that are apparently "being political", not helped by the BBC's typically muddled handing of it.

Watched it on Saturday and then MOTD2 on Sunday (MOTD2 is presented by Chappers).
Usually watch it most weeks.
People do get blinded by the fact he’s a genuinely lovely bloke and they hate it, and ignore the fact he’s actually an excellent, experienced TV anchor.

I watch it most Sundays morning on Iplayer. Have to mute it when Micah Richards is on though, only so much forced OTT laughter I can stomach.

Good riddance to overpaid linneker and his cronies. All they do is draw circles and triangles to tell you what you already knew- not enough expert analysis in my opinion

Her manner just doesn't work for me. She has been doing the job for way more than a year and hasn't improved, to my mind. |

Fair enough, thanks for answering 👍🏻 My reply was tongue-in-cheek to be fair, your post coming across as comparing the white straight woman with her opposite. Logan has been doing this for a very very long time, Scott is still fresh and new.
As I said, Lineker was awful when he first started out but he grew into it. Makes sense that Scott is the next in line for the role, CHAPPERS is too casual and a lot more suited to the Sunday night magazine style he currently covers.
