Don't understand the logic. You get a midfield player sent off which leaves you at a disadvantage in numbers in mid- field. Minutes later you take off ANOTHER midfielder and replace him with a forward which leaves you even weaker and more outnumbered in midfield. Minutes later you surprisingly conceded the winning goal. Utter madness. Time he went.

So we've only got the league campaign to focus on now. This season needs a shake up, starting with management.
I said to my dad before kick off, we'll end up getting beat away to these. It is all too predictable. Away form woeful has been for some time

Thank god we’re out of that awful competition. I rarely agree with you but you are right. I stated on a another thread that the FA trophy is a money pit that we cannot afford to be in. The prize money does not justify it. In the earlier rounds it don't even cover the costs putting on a match. Then theres the injuries and suspensions. We now have a weakened side for the next couple of matches. FA trophy is not worth igt |

Poor again.
Hard to believe these players are playing for the manager. Still want it to work but the games are running out for Calum now. Too many performances like today, more bothered by that than the result.

Thank god we’re out of that awful competition. Not fussed were out of it. I am fussed that we can't score or get a result somewhere like that, yet again. We only scored at Stockton in the last minute and that was by a centre half. We only scored at Needham Market last 5 minutes, and that was a centre half too. We've failed to score in 5 of the last 8 league games. We scored last minute at Scarborough when 3-0 down in one of those. A centre half scored one in another. The other game was Hereford. A forward hasn't scored since 21st September except for that Hereford game, and we haven't been playing too many good teams in that period either. Worrying. |

FA trophy is not worth igt I’d agree with that/the “now we can focus on the league” argument if I thought for one minute we will get our act together in the league and storm back up the table…but let’s face it, on current performances the odds of that are slim to zero atm. |

I will comment more on my opinion of us after I’ve watched us in person on Tuesday night
That said ref didn’t help by the sounds of it
Possible Gould for the goal
Red card
Then the subs as has been said not the best
It’s a competition we have an awful record in generally
And one perhaps we don’t have the resources to go full pelt at
Prize money isn’t fantastic
Still disappointing to bow out at the first hurdle

Yes - but another random win (if it comes) can’t keep rescuing Cal when followed by several matches of the usual dross. This season is over unless we start putting a run together - and don’t forget we have the usual post Xmas Chester slump to factor in between now and end of season. All the fun, excitement and expectation is sapping out of this season so fast it’s really depressing. |

That was pretty uninspiring.
And completely unsurprising.
I cannot see how it will be possible to expect anything other than more of the same for the forseable.
It better be good Tuesday though as it’s a rare opportunity for me to see us live.

It did seem in today's game that nobody really thought we would win just hoped. We need money to come in from somewhere we just seem to be getting dragged lower and lower each season sad times

Some stats posted on here recently made me think. If we go a goal down we almost never win from that position. We lose half the games when we concede first.
Cal is terrified of conceding first. Is it that he really doesn’t know how to change a game from that position?
It sounds from the commentary that he gambled today after the red card, tried to do something different. But the gamble was like putting money on a greyhound with three legs.
His in-game tactics just aren’t at the level required for us I’m beginning to think.
