I honestly believe that our decline as a club started the moment we stopped selling jelly beans at the ground. It might sound ridiculous, but think about it—since then, we’ve been relegated, gone through some of the worst food suppliers imaginable, and just generally struggled on and off the pitch.
Jelly beans weren’t just a snack; they were part of what made matchdays special. They added a bit of fun and tradition to the experience. When they disappeared, it felt like we lost a small but important part of what made our club unique. Since then, it’s been one thing after another—poor results, bad decisions, and a feeling that we’ve lost our way.
Football thrives on rituals and traditions, and jelly beans were one of ours. Bringing them back wouldn’t fix everything overnight, but it would be a step toward reconnecting with what makes our club special. Maybe it’s just superstition, but at this point, we need all the help we can get.
Up the Seals! Bring back the jelly beans.

I’ve been taking those Maynard’s Bassetts Sports Mix sweets to the game for years with my kids. Well nice. Plus they provide some entertainment to the kids looking at what sporting shape they’ve picked out the bag whilst the rest of us are being bored to death by watching the game.
