If not, why not. Could give the club some information as to the reasons some people have not bought/renewed.
I'm intrigued to see the statistics on this, for what is quite often a very downbeat forum... coyb

I renewed mine in the end. Willing to give the club a chance to fix the wrongs of last season, despite significant doubts still about the management.

I've renewed mine and I'm going to give Mark the benefit of the doubt. I went to a meeting last week in which he spoke about his strategic plan to grow the club year on year. Very impressed with what he had to say and as soon as the fixtures come out will be planning lots of away days.

Normally a no brainer, at the end of April was having second thoughts, but if we don't bother then the club will die. Too much effort gone into rebuilding the club to let that happen. Liked the way Mark went about promoting the campaign, and so renewed at end of 1st week.

Got to be honest, I haven't had a season ticket for two years after having one for quite a few years before that. I was a bit pissed off with the way things were going. BUT, I am a Chester supporter, I can't support anyone else and ultimately, it is down to me (and the rest of us) to ensure WE keep this Club afloat and push it on to greater things. I have been impressed with Mark M's conduct in the past couple of months after initially wondering what the hell he was doing (possibly due to the fact that we weren't hearing a great deal from the club). I like the fact that messages from the club are speaking to me personally (it's just clever marketing) and the written and postal communications have improved dramatically.
I think the transfer activity has been encouraging and far outweighing what we all thought would happen and the investment in the playing squad will hopefully be rewarded by extra season ticket and match day sales.
So, my big hope this season is that WE collectively get behind OUR club, OUR team and OUR Board and backroom staff and do our bit in every way we can. Buying a Season ticket and renewing our CFU membership is the easiest way to do that. There aren't any excuses, with finance packages available and the injection of cash early in the season can only help the playing budget going forward.

Its such a relief to see strong ST sales. Toward the end of last season, many were talking about not renewing after our awful run of form and the board's continued backing of Macca. Although understandable, it's an attitude that would have hindered the club and would have made Macca's job even harder.
Clearly some questions remain going in to this season but slow ST sales wouldn't have helped anybody.

I'm intrigued to see the statistics on this, for what is quite often a very downbeat forum... coyb I live sixty miles away, and midweek games often present traffic problems, hence no season ticket. After last season's dire performance and the disgusting attitude of McCarthy towards fans I would not be challenging anyone's choice not to renew. Please don't offer a pathetic defence of McCarthy by comparing his attitude with the fans. We pay his wages and his job includes rising above the contempt he justly deserved. He failed to do this. In my world nicknames are afforded to friends only, so why the nickname "Macca" is used by fans who he held in contempt last season is beyond me. However, I'm in a win-win situation this season. Play well and put points on the board and I'll be ecstatic and thank the board for supporting the management. Play badly, like last season, and I'll thank the board for sacking the manager. So a win-win for me, and I'll be there supporting the club and the team either way. Don't think my continued support for the club is an endorsement for McCarthy. He lost my support by May.

I agree that he took the piss at times in the second half of the season but we had little choice other than to stick with him and on the basis of his summer business it would appear that he has learnt some lessons. I'm willing to give the guy a second chance, but he does start with less brownie points than last season so it's imperative that we get off to a good start. There is certainly no excuses his time, we have the experience and characters in the team to play much better so the emphasis is on him to find the right blend tactically. I can understand your frustration, but I think his heart is in the right place and he has made some savvy signings so I hope he changes your mind.

I think we have the players but am not convinced McCarthy will get the best out of of them. To be fair, I will give him 20 minutes of the first game to prove me wrong

Got mine. Feeling optimistic about the season as the squad appears stronger than last year. If they don't perform then we'll know where to look.

Picking ours up tomorrow. Wasn't going to get one initially but this pre season (so far) has me more excited than ever for season to start.
Also going back in the west stand, haven't been a regular in there since promotion from Conference North. Took daughter in there for several games last year and it's a better part of the ground for kids anyway.
Can't wait to pick up what will be her first ever season ticket.

I share your view Big Si, although and I would have welcomed McCarthyβs departure given the totally unacceptable performances for 5 months including losing 8 on the trot at home . Having said all that, player recruitment on paper looks great, although Iβm never sure of previous players returning. But on the back of the renewed feel good factor, I renewed my season tickets, including some for my youngsters and feel optimistic for the new season. My only concern remains with the competence of the manager. If he canβt get the best out if these players by Mid December and we are languishing within or just outside the relegation zone the Board should then have the courage to show him the door. As, given the experience and quality of players we now have, it should not be too difficult for a savvy manager to come in and turn things around. Over to you Mr McCarthy and prove me wrong !

Got mine 1st week, no brainer. If the team fails the worse that can happen is that we get relegated, which I wouldn't be happy about, but if we as fans fail to support the club then it will die. Now that after 56 years of supporting this club I would be extremely unhappy about. It is our club, we must support it, no one else will if we don't.
