Anyone heard rumours about council looking at our lease?
What is the break clause?

Didn't we sign a rather lengthy lease on the Deva Stadium a few years ago? Hypothetically speaking, if we did move to a new ground, can we please ensure it's better than the one we are in now?!

I love our current home, it's all I've ever known. Can't imagine us playing anywhere else

It's a functional stadium, I'll give it that. Lacks any sort of "wow" factor though and the atmosphere has always been lacking due to it's low roofs. Despite being a stone throw away from Sealand Road, it's location is far from ideal either. We were shafted by Morrisons. Still, its our home, and it beats playing home games in Macclesfield.

What is the obession with Morrisons on here? Morrison Shand I'm referring to. As for the obsession with Morrisons on here, I bet you would not have had it on the old forum?

I go to the new ground and probably always will cos that's were my team plays but if truth be known I can't bear it. Sterile like so many other grounds these days

Plenty of room for expansion where we are now, should the need ever arise.

Expansion, dear me,we will never get out the conference and we've only filled the ground twice since we've been in it,Preston and Scarborough

Plenty of room for expansion where we are now, should the need ever arise. Talk about rose tinted glasses half the ground was closed for years the Kop was a disgrace. Sealand Road end was a dump, crowds averaging 1500 AT BEST when we were regularly bottom of the league

I'm convinced that if we had a ground near the city centre and a better ground than what we currently have we'd average 3000+

Sealand Road was a dump but it was a proper old school football ground with proper floodlights. I cannot abide the soulless dump we're in now.

I like our current stadium, nice and tidy. However, I never visited the old one.

I love the Deva as it's the only ground I've known as a Chester fan. It's a very bland stadium but it's a lot nicer than some of the shitholes we visit.

The ground would be alright if it was situated somewhere near Chester.

Whatever your opinion of the Deva may be, that cold dark walk down Bumpers lane on a Tuesday night in December to see the flood lit home of Chester FC is regardless of how the team play a factor which keeps me going back week after week.

Still miss Sealand Road , maybe it is rose tinted glasses and memories that make me hanker for the old lady , whether it be watching games like Leeds , Newcastle or Villa in the league cup or getting beat by Runcorn at home in the FA cup , the expectation while walking down stadium way of turning round that 2-0 deficit to Mansfield in the freight rover , then walking home with all the "what ifs" and the floodlights still burning bright behind.
Sitting in the old wooden stand as a nipper with my dad , going on the kop or popular side with my mate and his dad , then being a teenager and going on the Sealand Rd end with my mates , with its open air toilets and getting showered with rust when the ball hit the roof , but what times to look back on.
Then the hour plus trip on a corpy double decker to watch us in exile at Macc , it was never right and never ours but for that brief time was our home.
Now the Deva , or which ever sponsorship name it's going by this year. Not the greatest but not the worst , but in OUR city it's OUR HOME because that's where WE watch OUR CHESTER FC
