The Cook rumours are still flying around. If they do end up signing him, with their current strike force and attacking midfielders they should easily be making the play-offs. Cook will NOT be signing for Wrexham... rumours are still hanging around because the Wrexham fans are living in a dream world & not letting it go. They've got to accept that strikers like Cook, Jamille Matt, Mckail-Smith & even Bowerman plus god knows how many other strikers their fans have picked out of the air are very much long-shots for the likes of Wrexham. The likes of Chris Holroyd is more up their street.

Oh dear you have no idea about our signings and those we are going to sign have you and I still wouldn't rule Cooke out just yet ? I have watched both our friendlies so far and was impressed by what I saw but cant make it to Portugal tomorrow when you are playing Flint aren't you ? For the record I think that Chester have recruited a few reasonable if old players that may keep you out of the relegation dog fight this season but the bookies would disagree with me. Your problem was and is your manager our problem was and is no more our manager so its going to be a very interesting season for both our teams. Good luck with thinking playing us will be easy this season . at the end of the day mate your welsh flag is s##t, it has a fictional creature as its figure head. You made a film about not winning a competition we p##s ourself in work about this (trust me if England did what you did we would not make a film. ( plus England beat you) your country has no independence what so ever you do what ever westminister wants you to do, dance boys dance. Your town, not city town, has areas of multiple deprecation aka full of skank the highest performing shops in wrexscum is Poundland You have poor mans syndrome, in reality what would you give to have a city as pritty as chester? Unless you think your town centre is stunning haha sorry I forgot to laugh at your university, ie NORTH EAST WALES INSTITUTE tHats Glyndwrrrrrrrr or something that sounds just as thick, would you send your kids there haha poor sods Please go crawl back under a stone you brainless dimwit ! That is probably the most uneducated drivel I have ever read and really the school you are going to is either approved or the worst in the country assuming you are allowed to attend ? You clearly have a problem with Wrexham and obviously are living in awe of Wales/Wrexham AFC but never mind have a good sleep and try to stop sniffing glue and you will feel oh so much better and slightly normal.

Spelling mistakes? This is one BIG BIG BIG spelling mistake outside Highfield Primary School on Blacon Point Road. Mind you, with all the Welsh street names etc in Blacon, perhaps we should give Chester Council a bit of leeway?

They've put together a decent squad but I'm not sure Keates will be a success there.
He hardly set the world alight last season and the pressure will be much higher with his own squad in place. I predict he won't last the season.

I predict he won't last the season. Definitely some question marks over Keates as it is very early in his career. I was very happy with his performance last year though. He took over a squad very low in both quality and confidence and on a seeming death slide down the league. He stabilised us, shipped out a lot of players who weren't good enough, brought in a couple of better quality and stabilised the squad all the while having to negotiate player contracts after Mills had left a legacy of very expensive second year options on the contracts if players like Rooney. Finally, once we were safe, he started preparing for this year by moving on expensive players who weren't willing to stay and banking the cash for this year's budget. What has been most impressive it that it's always been clear he has a definite plan going forward.

Fair enough. His recruitment looks solid, but I just expected to see more a bounce when he took over. I accept his players weren't the best but it looked like you limped over the line a bit. As I say, with the budget he clearly has to go and put that squad together, the knives will be out if you start slowly.
Interesting season ahead for both of us I think.

Surely, tedious threads about their club and team only encourages posts from deluded and juvenile goatblowers on what is I understand is the main CFC forum . Shouldn't this thread go to the off topic forum ?

Fans from each club can have light-hearted go at each other. Release all that pressure!!! C'mon trev. Cheer up FFS! Mushn't grumble!

This part of the forum is called 'the blues and all other football chat' and while the 'my dad is bigger than your dad' arguments are pathetic, I have no problem with sensible posters like English Red being on here.

Unfortunately though, the thread is now principally concerned with misspelt parking markings in Blacon !

Poor day at the office but 45 more games to go. Macclesfield were well drilled but wont be able to progress beyond mid table as I expect they will have quite a few drawn games. We are still short of 2 players ..a 100% twenty goals a season striker and a mid field enforcer. Be very interesting g to see how our both teams do next Tues.

No one likes to lose their first game. You haven't played yours yet....
6,180 at The Racecourse.
That's more than the capacity of The Chester.
Not bad for a 3-sided ground with a total capacity of 10,771...in the 'Conference'
We'd have that every week, and more if we were vying for a promotion place. Chester actually cost us money, not to mention giving up the most acoustic part of the ground in recent derby games at The Racecourse. Your away following should be in the top corner of the Yale Stand from now on. 900 capacity is enough for you.

I just looked at the thread title. Logged in and thought I'd point out that Chester haven't played yet. Unless CFC can absolutely guarantee WAFC that they'll sell more than 1.000 tickets for the derby, you should be housed in the upper corner of the Yale Stand. 6,180 - opening game of the 'Conference'. I hoped for 5,500 before the game. Early days

Yes, Hereford brought in players to keep them up and had no intention of paying them, we knew the day we went down it was likely we'd stay in the division.
