It's all free boys, cost us nothing. All from our shirt manufacturers. How did your deal go with your kit suppliers again? Jealousy is a horrible thing. Im sorry but its not free if your deal included a 10 grand jolly to Portugal then thats 10 grand of the amount of money going directley into club coffers ie playing budget then that means efectively your fundraising efforts are 10 grand short you get nothing free in this world It cost the club nothing. Zero. Zilch. If your a business you can entertain clients. It'll be of a tax/vat benefit to Macron.

I love the spin being put on the Portugal trip that it was some sort of bad thing.
As if you wouldn't jump at the chance if MBNA offered something similar? Absolute nonsense.

Great looking pitch but a very decaying stadium. Still a great place to watch footy. Sealand road was decaying but still enjoyed enjoyed going there, unlike that soulless place you now play at

I dont think so that money could have gone into your coffers instead of having a jolly. Wrexham FC are not the clients the sponsors are Wrexhams client You are really struggling to understand the situation. This was not an 'either/or' deal. Macron, our kit manufacturer, offered to fully fund an away pre season trip to Portugal which included playing a friendly against a team who also have their kit provided by Macron. If the club had declined the offer then that would have been the end of it. There would be no advantage for Macron to just give the club a sum of money to go into their 'coffers'! I'm sorry to everyone who can grasp this situation for having to read this again but it is like beating your head against a brick wall with some people.

Of course we'd take it but you lot bragging about it and comparing it to Runcorn and Flint is pathetic. We are going to Stafford on Saturday and Warrington on Tuesday. Hardly salubrious places. As Billy says the entire point of this thread was to wind up Wrexham fans (which it has) so you have to expect some sort of backlash. It's all fun and games really. Neither side has got too much to brag about so we use what we can!

The club either had a free trip or they had nothing.

Can this thread be moved to off-topic like that other ludicrous Wrexham one? Good post. You have all gone rather quiet but I expect the banter to increase as soon as the season starts. We have played 5 friendlies and won 5 including the match in Portugal but I take no notice about the results as they count for nothing come 5th August. most managers use these games to increase fitness and to try out differing tactics and ideas , I assume McCarthy is doing that ...isn't he ?

Fans have a tendency to put too much store on the results of pre season games. In our worst season we've always seemed to have had good preseason results. But who do you think learnt more about his squad? McCarthy after the Alty game or Mellon after Tranmere battered Cammel Laird?
I was pleased with our game at Warrington because it was tough. Played on a terrible pitch against an aggressive side I thought it did highlight a few issues that need addressing before the season starts.

I don't think anyone is particularly bothered by the result against Alty, but the manner of the performance has such similarity to what let us down so often last season. You can't to see indication of improvement on the pitch, that wasn't the case, despite having a stronger side. Everyone, including myself, is a bit frustrated with the way JMC conducts himself in interviews, especially regarding fans. Banter aside we do have a passionate bunch of fans, albeit not as many as we would like, so to aim insults at them isn't smart for an already unpopular figure.

Yes I don't understand your manager one bit. I have been in business at quite a high level for many years and at no time would I or any of my employees act in the way he does. If you talk supportive and speak positive you will get all the support you deserve. Slag off the paying public and you will go no where .

He doesn't seem to have any rapport with the fans, and I think that might be his downfall. To be honest after your end of season form hes lucky to still be in post. He's let a couple of decent players go and signed a team who look stronger on paper so last chance saloon I'd have thought.

With the signings you've made, if you don't go up this year, you never will. Need to get our strikers sorted out with one more required but : From RP "So now we have a regular back 4 of - Roberts (promotion with Cambridge), Pearson (promotion with Grimsby), Manny (we know all about him already!), Jennings (promotion with Mansfield). That's some defence at this level!"

So Alabi joins Hannah and Andy Cook in turning them down. Instead they end up with an injury prone striker from Scotland. They are going to struggle scoring goals next season. It's probably one of the easier fixtures next season for Chester!

The Cook rumours are still flying around. If they do end up signing him, with their current strikforce and attacking midfielders they should easily be making the play-offs.

Oh dear you have no idea about our signings and those we are going to sign have you and I still wouldn't rule Cooke out just yet ? I have watched both our friendlies so far and was impressed by what I saw but cant make it to Portugal tomorrow when you are playing Flint aren't you ? For the record I think that Chester have recruited a few reasonable if old players that may keep you out of the relegation dog fight this season but the bookies would disagree with me. Your problem was and is your manager our problem was and is no more our manager so its going to be a very interesting season for both our teams. Good luck with thinking playing us will be easy this season . at the end of the day mate your welsh flag is shit, it has a fictional creature as its figure head. You made a film about not winning a competition we piss ourself in work about this (trust me if England did what you did we would not make a film. ( plus England beat you) your country has no independence what so ever you do what ever westminister wants you to to like, dance boys dance. Your town, not city town, has areas of multiple deprecation aka full of skank the highest performing shops in wrexscum is Poundland You have poor mans syndrome, in reality what you would give to have a city as pritty as chester? Unless you think your town centre is stunning haha sorry I forgot to laugh at your university, ie NORTH EAST WALES INSTATUTE haha Glyndwrrrrrrrr or something that sounds just as thick, would you send your kids there haha is so poor sods Dear God!
