So then, another match thread! A nice win tonight sets us up well for tomorrow, with us away at Flint. I can imagine McCarthy putting out a similar squad as tonight, albeit with a tougher opposition. Hopefully we can get another win. Come on you blues! Score: Flint Town United 0-2 Chester FC (White, Akintunde) Attendance: 666 (322 Chester)

Tonight will most likely be a youth team with one or two first teamers, given the fact the first team played last night.

Flint 1 - 4 Chester FC (Bell, White, Waters and Astles with a last minute volley).
Saw their left back / left midfielder Matty Pierce score a worldie at The Deva a couple of months ago in an end of season game - a free kick from about 35 yards into the top corner. In fairness, my mate was in goal, who's one of those goalies who looks terrified as soon as someone shoots at goal.

2-0 to the blues now, with ''Trialist D'' the goalscorer. Will I get my prediction right this time?

Full Time Flint Town United 0-2 Chester FC. It looks like we had another good run out this evening, with a number of Trialists involved. Judging by the match blogs, Harry White seems to be impressive. If this continues, we have a real player on our hands. 2 wins out of 2 is a good start to pre-season, with a tougher trip to Hyde on Thursday. Hopefully we can get another positive result there, COYB!

Good run out. Akintunde and Halls impressive first half, Bell, Jones, Downes (youth team left back) and the trialist keeper was good too.

The trailist RB in Hannah's shirt looked a tidy player. Quick, strong and got the basics right.
Nathan Brown looks a good prospect. He just needs some confidence to take players on more often, incredibly quick and tricky.
Turnbulls set piece delivery is good and pretty consistent. Think we'll be dangerous from set pieces with him over them

Slightly concerning that we already have a number of injury concerns after last seasons problems. Most alarming for me is Mahon. He's not been for most of last season and hasn't had any minutes yet. Really need him fit on the wing. Nathan Brown looks decent and Akintunde looks good. We've played two sides that aren't much more than a run out though. Pre season means nothing even if we won every game 5-0 it's about fitness and match time. I hope to see Mahon on Thursday, he deserves an injury free spell.

Think I seen Dave Powell say Mahon was recovering from an infection and is expected to play against Hyde.

To whoever came up to me at the Flint match, shook my hand and thanked me for the efforts towards the Cestrians 1885 movement, thank you. I should've caught a name 🙄

Slightly concerning that we already have a number of injury concerns after last seasons problems. The question has to be asked as to why we have so many injury problems. They all seem to come as a result of training. What is it about these sessions that is causing such high levels of longer term injuries? It will only take 2-3 of the main squad to get injured before we are relying on some of the poorer reserves.

If now, only one of them is from training. Hannah & Horwood from Runcorn game, Mahon has an eye infection. Waters the only one.

There were far too many long term injuries coming out of training incidents last year.

I've been told extreme attention to detail with the well-being of players of players in training will be focused on this year, ensuring full warm ups, warm downs etc are taken at training. We've also got an agreement with a sponsor to provide free and quick scans to reveal any injuries - when we used to have a guess and hope an injury got better.
