Worst ground I went to last year - hope they have finished building the away terrace, which will at least create a bit of atmosphere. Parking was also tricky and Solihull town centre is soulless...apart from that great. Anyone know any decent pubs within striking distance that don't involve going into the town centre? The terrace was complete last time but it didn't receive the safety certificate. But now it is open so we will be able to create a good atmosphere next week.

I may well be there this evening watching them take on a stoke city u23 side. I shall let you know what their threats appear to be also an update on the ground. You are absolutely correct in what you say about the tin shed they have assembled behind the goal

How long does it take to issue a safety certificate for three or four concrete steps?

How do teams like Solihull pass the ground grading? Their ground is shocking even with the improvements , this rule of giving teams time to improve stadiums is a joke. Either your grounds good enough or it's not!

Apparently their ground capacity is 4,313 (Seats 1,000.) The mind boggles, when you think of the hoops our club has to jump through with SAG to even get to 4500. It seems that if a light bulb goes out or the tannoy is not A1 at the Deva, we must have 20% cut in capacity. Maybe SAG should visit Solihulls ground , as surely they would have it condemned ! (But after 5th August !)

They have attempted to turn their ground into a football stadium if that makes sense. It was a never even a football pitch. It used to be a golf driving range and bar/nightclub. When Solihull borough and moor green merged it was adequate for the 250 or so that watched them in the conference north and leagues below. Agreed it is one of if not the poorest ground I have ever visited at conference level. They don't attract any more than 600 home gate. Despite offering generous admission prices to season ticket holders of all west midland clubs. Solihull isn't really a football town.

Going by car Not sure what M6 is like for roadworks, 50mph restrictions etc so playing safe and going Chester/Oswestry/Shrewsbury etc Reckon about 1hr 45mins Heads up for those going by car Just returned from a trip to Worcester today Major roadworks on M5. I know it's not on the route but huge tailbacks today backing onto M6 as far back as M54 junction. This was around midday but was virtually stationary for 45 mins. Might be similar on Saturday (seems to be lots of holiday traffic heading SW) Also, Oswestry Show is on Saturday so could be probs on A5 near the showground if people were thinking of going that way. I'm now seriously considering M6 and M6 Toll as best route albeit a bit pricey!

Could always support the club financially by getting on the Hipkiss - nice and easy, cheap, not having to worry about petrol costs...

Solihull tweeted yesterday to say there's going to be a bar at the ground for away fans. Looking forward to it even more now, COYB šŗ

From international the X12 bus destination Solihull will drop you right outside the ground. Runs every 30 minutes. About a 10 minute journey Where do you get the bus when you get to International ? I've been there once to the NEC, do you get the bus from outside the NEC or somewhere else ? cheers in advance

Thats what going to the match is all about.

I've been there once to the NEC, do you get the bus from outside the NEC or somewhere else ? cheers in advance Hi when you get off the train at international you come upstairs or lift which leaves you by the WH Smith's shop. From there you will see boards showing the arrivals and departures for the airport. Below these boards are some escalator's on your left. Go down it and the bus stops right outside the automatic doors. There is also a timetable which tells you all you need to know. By the way the only bus that goes anywhere near the ground is the x12 which until recently was the number 966. Hope that helps?
