I have nothing against the concept Senior Blues, but I won't attend while it's run on such dictatorial lines. He says that everyone is happy with him continuing ad infinatum, but this means he's denying someone else the opportunity to take the chair and develop the model and grow it. When someone won't relinquish the chairmanship of meetings the only outcome will be decay and ultimately oblivion. If you think NFBF is not doing a good job then stand against him. To my mind they do a good job unlike alot CFC fans who stand to the side and moan about everything and do nothing to help the club. At least the Senior Blues and their chairman connect with the club and raise money for it and other needy causes. But as I say if you can do better then take on the role. Here here

Whilst NFBF may post a lot about Senior Blues on old DC, that site is predominantly inhabited by older supporters. His is an elected role at the head of a committee and from the money they put into the club and the turnout they get at their meetings they do it very well. Keep up the good work NFBF.

Yep he comes across as very passionate about the SBs to be fair to him. And they do have some good days out from the sound of it.
Didn't they go Whisky tasting in town a while back?

Sometimes I don't understand the criticism aimed towards him. I've never met the man but he seems passionate about the SB's and has worked very hard. Keep it up!

I don't know him personally but i do know he has done more for this club over the years than the vast majority of fans so that's good enough for me to excuse any self-promotion on his part.

I guess Chris just unwittingly rubs a few up the wrong way.
He's a lovely bloke, sat in the seat directly behind me ever since I've been going for 22 years. My Dad has known him for longer than that as well.

Yes, he is proud of his work with the Senior Blues, but he should be, it's a big success story. I bump into Chris occasionally and he is a real gent.

I find that a lot of people these days tend to knock those that simply get involved in something they enjoy. It's as if it's a bad thing to actually have an interest and really absorb yourself into it. It's pathetic and Chester seems to have more than its fair share of them, fans who would prefer to criticise and knock rather than applaud any efforts or worse, get involved themselves.

As you will have seen on the other Deva Chat, about a hundred people turned up for our first meeting of the season. They certainly hadn't come to see me! My job has Chairman is to "Chair" the Committee meetings and the members meetings, that came with job. I also do lot of other things as well, but no more than any other of our Committee members. My position as Chairman comes up for selection every year, no one has challenged or wanted to replace me since we started. But I can be replaced at any time if the committee or our members didn't want me. I regard myself as being very lucky to have held that position all that time, and do not take the position of Chairman lightly! The success of the Senior Blues comes from our members supporting us, we never take that support for granted, and are always trying different events, trips and speakers to keep them entertained. I will make no excuses whatsoever for promoting the Senior Blues, because, believe it or not, there are still Chester supporters who havn't heard of us! As has been mentioned on this thread, yes, I was a sponsor for the club many years ago, and was able, at that time, to put money into the Club, I was delighted to do it, and was proud that I was able to do it, and I enjoyed doing it. Of course I got advertising out of that, which helped my business. I would certainly not reveal exactly how much I spent over the years, (if i could remember,) anyway, because my wife might read this! There eventually came a time when I couldn't sponsor anymore, which was sad, but enjoyed the time I was able to. I will reiterate, again, that the Senior Blues is NOT all about me, I'm just lucky enough to be Chairman.

Can't tell if this is a parody or not. I wouldn't have thought so. It was just the last sentence following a boatload of "I" and "me" - assumed it was satire but wasn't sure.

The chairman planned on discussing the use of the new forum at the senior blues meeting yesterday. What on earth needed to be discussed God alone knows!

I notice that DC1 (the original Deva Chat) put a bit of effort in promoting both the CFU meeting and the Senior Blues meeting, and as a result both meetings were well attended, well done to the Mods on DC1
