I think that we should extend Bell's six-month loan until the end of the season.

Dawson was impressive playing out of position. Think he'll turn into an important player for us this season. Solid in a tackle and his vision and range of passing is something that no one else can match in the squad. Him and Turnbull take decent corners and free kicks too.
Worrying to see how Halls fell apart after his mistake. Before that he was solid at the back and got forward. Looked like he totally lost his head after they scored.
I wonder what the loan deal is with Bell. If he carries on this form into the league surely Gateshead are going to recall him.

wait till nearer the loan contract finishes with bell if he's playing regular down here and knows he wont get a look in at gateshead he might just try to secure a deal with us until end of season he's a type of player we missed last season with alabi i like bell but must continue his pre season form to where it matters now

Today we looked organised and hard to beat , good to see us have a lot of size and strength in team ...a must in the conference ! If that is Port Vales first team I fear for them this season they looked slow unfit and devoid of a plan . Bell was the pick for me along with strong showings from Astles and Turner. Special mention for Vales number 8 who was diabolical , surely he isn't a first teamer?

Good to hear things were decent today. I haven't been to a pre-season game since Crewe two years ago when Rooney sprayed passes across the pitch, Chappel took players on/whipped in delicious crosses and we looked like champions elect. We escaped the drop come the end of the season by the skin of our teeth. Let's see what next Saturday brings at Solihull. We will have a much better idea then of the quality of these new signings in a competitive environment and see how the tactics etc have moved on from the end of last season.

All in all, preseason means nothing. Real football starts next weekend, see you all there.

Last minute decision to go today and was impressed with the way we played - keeper was sound and back four solid apart from silly mistake from Halls he knew he had cocked up but he is a good player and mistakes like that happen Boom Boom and Astles were solid answer LRT was superb never put a foot wrong all game - Midfield really solid and creative Dawson Turnbull and James excellent - Mahon showed he is class skipping past defenders with ease but here is Mccarthys massive dilemma how good were Bell and Akintunde - they were quick sharp and a real threat yet are probably the 3rd anday 4th string- personally think Bell has to start and Akintunde is very close as he is such a livewire - interesting dilemma to have 4 good strikers COYB

Hopefully Bell can keep his momentum going and Akintunde has looked the best I've seen him since he first signed. Not a bad thing either having White and Hannah chomping at the bit in reserve either. Going to be interesting to see how it plays out.

was that port vale first team on saturday ? if it was they never looked that good
thought rowe-turner had a good game i think he will settle in well with the size of our squad compared to torquay last season
bell and akintunde worked well together but for me on saturday it has to be bell and white bell has more threat about him then akintunde no disrespect to aki i like him and think him and ross could offer more on the bench
