Young Burnley keeper Conor Mitchell is set to join us on loan, Northern Ireland u21 international so comes with good pedigree. He played against Port Vale but didn't really have anything to do, big lad though and should provide good competition for Lynch.

Burnley wouldn't want the lad to be sitting on the bench every week so I presume we would have to guarantee him a certain number of games.

Burnley wouldn't want the lad to be sitting on the bench every week so I presume we would have to guarantee him a certain number of games. If it counts as a youth type loan he could still play for their U23 set up, and be in our squad for the rest of the week. That way he gets experience in a real league as well. Agree that they'd probably be expecting him to play a bit too, though. It's difficult to know what he's like compared to Lynch. He hasn't had much to do so far. Does shout and tell his back four what's around them well. Must admit I'm not totally convinced about Lynch. He let far too many goals in from long range last season. The way we defend deep and compact we can't afford for that to happen. You have to expect your keeper to save nearly all shots from 25 yards out.

Mitchell from Burnley sounds like a great second option and a deal where both parties should benefit.

The GK is for me our weakest area. Its not that I don't like Lynch, I just don't think he's a number 1 at this level - yet!. He's carrying a bit of timber too for such a young lad with such a profession. Mind you, Id have taken beer and women over my job any day but I didn't have to squeeze into a footy top on Saturday with my moobs on show.

Persevere with Lynch I think. He's very young, nowhere near where goalkeepers tend to peak, and has shown potential.

unlikely any deal before the weekend Don't understand what the delay is, Burnley will be paying his wages so what's the problem?

unlikely any deal before the weekend Don't understand what the delay is, Burnley will be paying his wages so what's the problem? It could be that Burnley want him to be first choice keeper to give him plenty of game time.
